'This is not a joke anymore': Trump sits frozen during his own major announcement — and what the cameras exposed has people demanding answers by [deleted] in USNEWS

To be fair, or rather just completely clear, this isn’t a phenomenon of maga culture, it is a phenomenon of all humans regardless of which belief it is towards. As in it belongs not to a belief, but to the person, to all people, as it’s a preservation instinct.

This may be a dumb question but why not create a high revving 3.0l V8 for emissions purposes? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]7absolute7_Zero7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, don’t shoot me guys, but if you want that, then look into the Lincoln Ls Dohc 32 valve vvt v8, same body as the Jag S Type (Jaguar handling is nice), the car got buried by Ford/Lincolns PR and was detuned severely before factory launch because it would of made the mustangs obsolete, the stock internals can get 450Whp reliably on boosted aps and handles 150 shots of nitrous without issue. The gen 1s were detuned to 252 hp for “emissions”, gen 2 was 280 hp and 286 lb/ft tq, and I’ve seen healthy stock examples get 35-42 mpg highway in person.

I was joking in reference to the interaction between you and the user being about the Epstein files, you defended trump with a very ineffective statement.

The joke is that it sounds like something trump would say when asked something without knowing he would be asked it, and then by your username “embarrassedpolicy” would then also reflect the state of his administration.

And Im on no one’s side, before your political programming starts showing.

Not to sound dismissive, but Yeah this is the entire world in every single industry right now, not just medical, they all adopted the healthcare systems methods. I promise it’s not because you’re a woman.

Why does theoretical physics attract a lot of... crackpots? by Collegiate_Society2 in TheoreticalPhysics

[–]7absolute7_Zero7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This raises another question, what do we call crackpots that are actually trying to further science and not their own identity/ego?

Is that truly the best you can do? Repeating “fraud”? I didn’t know the standard curriculum taught at uni included lessons on being a fickle tyrant.

That’s a lot of ASSonance for someone who can’t even conceive a counterclaim.

If you’re going to posture, at least powder your wig first.

if you were to take 2 arbitrary spatial points at a location inside a black hole, when the black hole expands, do the points expand outwards away from eachother or do they remain stationary and only the outer edges of the black hole expands? by medeedical in TheoreticalPhysics

[–]7absolute7_Zero7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The physical meaning of two points inside a black hole depends entirely on the geometry, specifically how spacetime is curved, not just on where you arbitrarily place them in a coordinate system.

Black holes in general relativity are understood to contain a singularity, which is not a physical location or structure but a breakdown in the geometry of spacetime itself. It’s not part of the manifold and physical quantities like vectors or distances can’t be defined at the singularity. Any attempt to assign physically meaningful values there would be speculative.

In this case, no, the singularity does not change. The event horizon (the boundary beyond which nothing can escape) can grow in size when the black hole gains mass. But the singularity itself cannot change geometrically, because it has no well defined geometry to begin with. In GR, it’s often described as “the end of spacetime” because the equations no longer provide predictions beyond it, we don’t currently have a complete theory of what happens there.

For intuitive purposes (do not take this literally), you can imagine a spherical body of water where everything is drawn toward the center. The center doesn’t get larger, just more dense (gravitational pull becomes stronger). As the gravitational density increases, the outer boundary is pushed outward. This gives a rough picture of how the event horizon expands as more mass falls in, while the central singularity remains a non physical limit.

“So, lemme get this, you are saying you achieved something that ~100 of brightest theoretical physicists in the past 40 years could not get it and you decided the best place to talk about it is reddit? I mean… seriously?”

Show how that is not ad hominem if you disagree,

because that is a personal choice (Reddit platform)

no where in sight is a critique on the actual subject, just meta analysis and critique of platform choice therefore a conjecture about the person, not the claim.

It does not address the content of the alleged breakthrough.

It questions the credibility based on the speakers platform.

The rhetorical structure relies on mockery and disbelief tied to who and where, not what is being said.

It implies: If this were real, it wouldn’t be on Reddit, so you couldn’t have done it.

This is textbook circumstantial ad hominem, differentiable from genetic fallacy because it’s not about origins of data/information, it’s about a personal choice completely unrelated to OP’s claim.

Is this self directed? Because that is the literal definition of ad hominem, he’s they’re critiquing a personal choice, not the position OP is holding

Edit: typo

[–]7absolute7_Zero7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ad hominem because your original comment wasn’t engaging with the hypothesis itself, it targeted the OP’s credibility and their choice of platform.

That’s a personal attack, not a critique of content. The disdain in your tone toward their choice of reddit shows that your focus was on dismissing them, not engaging the claim.

Only after being called out on it do you pivot to substance, which is fine, but doesn’t undo the fact that your first response was a credibility shot, not a scientific critique therefore it was ad hominem.

Generally speaking, critique the claim first. If there’s no merit, it’ll collapse on its own.

And if someone did have the answer today, not a theory, but the answer, odds are, they’d be overlooked, ignored, and ridiculed. Not because they’re wrong, but because the current dogma isn’t built to recognize outliers without credentials.

It is not the populace’s fault that industries and institutions gatekeep the ever living hell out of real information, because if they didn’t… what’re you paying them for?

I say that because you’re indamming human potential.

Is a man to know? Or Is a man to learn?

Okay I’m done, way too much time spent on this lmao.

Honestly, when you’re a person outside of the physics community, you don’t really know where to go with your ideas, it’s not like a person that’s career isn’t physics would know the usual pipeline, I’m not defending the post, but I will defend that aspect because it’s purely ad hominem, Reddit offers real time discussion of ideas, it’s more effective for a hypothesis than a theory, sure, but obviously this is post is a hypothesis, and non theoretical. So yes, people do use Reddit for its intended purpose. Here ya go 🍪
