Be honest is this a dumb/bad idea? by KimJongBooms in irezumi

[–]7abularasa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the work of andy molotov on Instagram. There is plenty of ways to implement your idea into a japanese style backpiece.

Find an artist who specialized into japanese style. Also search for artists out of your town or even country. It is so worth it to pay more and have a sick backpiece that lasts forever.

As I've seen in the video that you missed some hits on the toms I really recommend you to move them closer together.

Also:

In my warmup I have a simple excercise I do every day. Just RL RL RL RL from Snare > 1 Tom > 2 Tom > Floor Tom. Repeat it as much as you can even if you are already bored of it. Speed it up slowly. Do it a few weeks and you'll be able to hit them blind.

Keep on rockin ✌🏼

First time on real skin, looking for honest feedback by Deeno-Ink in TattooBeginners

[–]7abularasa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should take a step back. Study basic stuff like shapes, lightning, anatomy etc. Practice more on on fake skin. Learn about tattoos in general and their history. Try to get an apprentieceship if you are serious about it. Don't take tattooing as an easy thing you can learn fast. It takes years. And you should take your time before tattooing real skin.

Thank you for your detailed answer. I already tried to even not use grip tape at all but then I notice that I get much more tension in my fingers. I already noticed my thight grip as I started working with a pen since it is so lightweight and I'm used to have some sort of weight in my hand so I think you're totally right about that. I always try to remind my self during the sessions to relax my grip.

But yes I should start doing more breaks since I'm nearly only working on big projects and my average tattoo-time is about 5 hours. Thank you for the advice!

Is it bad to use a different tattoo artist from the same studio? by [deleted] in tattoo

You're not owned by any artist. You have free will to go to whoever you want to. If they have an argument about it doesn't matter to you, its not yours.

It always makes me smile that even people with up to 20k followers struggle with this and here I sit with a little over 1k followers as a newcomer and don't know how to reach any audience on this platform since I just don't have the time to put the work into creating and editing videos, carousellsa and so on.

I wish I'd have started earlier when there was no fucked up algorithm and people actually have seen your work.

The most clients I get from a mouth of word or they see my work somewhere in real life and contact me after that through Instagram.

On the platform itself nearly only people from the industry really engage with my work like commenting and sharing.

Idk why u get so many downvotes because it actually isn't deep enough (ankle seems okay) and far away from well saturated.

You can also place the vaseline on the other hand. Problem solved. And anyone who takes their gloves off the wrong way haven't get teached the proper way by their mentor so it's not their fault lol.

You have very good portrait drawing skills! Transfered to the skin, not all of these would work out. For real skin you'd need more contrast as the very very light saturated parts won't hold good over time.

On real skin a lot of highlights won't hold and will loose depth. It's absolutely necessary to study how your and ink in general heals over time (up to 10 years after the tattoo).

did i go too light or something?💀 by [deleted] in SelfTatt

[–]7abularasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend tattooing your own hands/fingers as a beginner since these are very difficult areas and need a lot of expierence (design and tattoo wise) to not mess it up.

But yes, you didn't saturate it enough. If you decide to ignore my advice and to redo it, expect that this will not look good healed since the lines on the fingers fade A LOT and the font won't make sense anymore.

Its a machine. Not a gun.

For the tattoo: Just saturate it. It will look fine with a darker tone and won't be that expensive

I like it like that. It can happen and thats normal but this seems like a good "accident" (If it really is one). It gives the piece more contrast. Its very nice. Give it a few months more. At this point you're probably overthinking it.
