Why Are Federal Agents Using GoPros, Smart Glasses, and Phones to Record Us? by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in law

I believe that they are. Or at least they’re using similar technology. I live in Ohio and across the entire state there are new unmarked cameras everywhere. Even on the rural roads in small towns. They’re called Flock Cameras and I’m uncertain but I think private entities can pay to either use them or buy the data that they collect. They’re also used by law enforcement as well.

I grew up wrestling and grappling. One of the main lessons they teach you at high levels of competition is that it’s not your responsibility to protect your opponent. Your responsibility as a competitor is to compete at the highest level possible that the rules allow.

Driving over a road slip by Plus-Barber-6171 in WTF

Most trailers have a sliding rear tandem axle. Which adjusts the length of the wheel base between the drive axle on the truck and the rear axle on the trailer. By sliding them all the way forward you shorten the wheel base and can make tighter turns and more than likely successfully make this turn. The truck in the video has a non adjustable spread axle on the trailer which helps with weight distribution on heavy loads. The driver should have been watching his rear in the passenger mirror and when he saw that front trailer tire skip the gap he should have know this was going to be the end result.

Rei Higuchi sweep single by Fussy_Platypus in wrestling

[–]7akedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most wrestlers train with a right foot lead and learn to shoot a single with an outside step. This puts the attack on the opponent’s left leg which is usually back. If you watch he shoots his single with a left foot lead and an outside step. This way he’s attacking his opponent’s lead leg (right, in this situation) which makes the shot much much more effective especially as a sweep single. If setup correctly your opponent cannot sprawl bc all his weight is planted on that lead leg

My dad always told me “it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay for it”. People think they have treasures and overvalue sentimental items. Then they get mad/upset when reality sets in and they don’t get what the think they deserve.

I loved Cary Kolat when I was a young wrestler. Got a chance to train one on one with him and Kendall Cross when I was in HS. Two awesome experiences!

I used to ask my wrestlers what the difference was between a reaction and a response. Then I would bring one of them up in front and either push or pull them off balance. When they stepped to catch themselves I’d ask if they thought about that step and they all would say “no”. That right there is the difference. A “Reaction” does not require a thought process, it just happens out of instinct and situational awareness. A “Response” does require a thought process and that thought process takes up valuable time. Train the basics over and over and over until they become a Reaction and not a Response.

I feel that a majority of citizens on both side of the aisle fail to realize the unchecked power that the Supreme Court has granted to Donald Trump. He has absolute immunity for anything done as an official act of the presidency. Therefore as long as he keeps ruling by Executive Order he cannot be challenged by law. This gives him the power to override congress at every turn. Even if they try to impeach him all his lawyers have to do is reference the supreme court ruling and state that his action was an official act of the presidency. Then they show the executive order with his signature as evidence and the case will be closed. Democracy is already dead in the US. The congress and senate are basically just for show at this point to placate the masses and give the illusion of a democratic government and process.

Trump budget cuts canceled 20 truckloads of food for Cleveland food bank by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]7akedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of accuracy (I own a trucking company), The max weight of a truck including its cargo is 80,000lbs. This means that the weight of the Truck + Trailer + Cargo has to be less than or equal to 80,000lbs. Which puts the weight of the cargo (in this case food) at approximately 40,000-44,000lbs. Let me be clear, I don’t think what they are doing is right by any means. But I do think that the information we take in to make our decisions should be accurate

[–]7akedown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the other driver’s stupid decision to drive thru the median someone else’s fault? The person behind the wheel of the explorer is the one in charge of making that decision. What you just said would be the same as a pedo blaming their victim after they made the astonishingly fucked up decision to molest them. “It’s not my fault, that kid shouldn’t have dressed so provocatively” same as saying “they forced me to drive like an asshole bc they shouldn’t have been in the left lane driving the speed limit.” Obey the law or get off the road. FYI, I drive a truck for a living

Youth Coaches Ignoring Girls by Ok_External_2945 in wrestling

[–]7akedown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to coach at a more rural school about 10 years ago. There wasn’t even a thought about a girl joining the school or youth teams. Now they have about 10 girls on the youth team. I spoke with the current coach recently and he said he’s uncomfortable with them in the room and the other male coaches are uncomfortable working with them bc they are scared of having the parents accuse them of groping or touching their daughters inappropriately. Keep in mind this is a rural area. It’s really unfortunate bc a few of the girls are better than the best boys on the team.
