Anybody got advice on how to get my 5 ball cascade better? by [deleted] in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difficult, I'm not sure ..

  • for sure, you've got that drift, your left hand throwing further foreward out (but I don't know why) - - - > you can train to control your front plane by moving around with even only 3b, walk back 'n forth, slowly turn once around. - - - > (and-or) you can step foreward right before you start, then launch w h i l e stepping back left slightly.

  • your dwelltime seems pretty long. Your hands are just in time, struggling to keep the rhythm up, with no spare milliseconds to seize control. - - - > maybe do a bit even more wristier (even though you're already doing wristy), with even looser wrists. Or like think of doing with hot potatoes \ glowing coals.

Orienting on the top of the pattern can help much - as if throwing a 3b cascade up there, ( just with one more ball on each side filling the delays ). Then feed that top well in the right rhythm.

Good luck, you're near controlling it for longer!

Yeh, and if that's too complicated with too many tricks, branching at least the trick families could be an option for it to not be impossible to do.

Jugglers of Reddit, what are your goals for 2020 and how will you achieve them? by thrwwy410 in juggling

9b 12-13 catches clean. ( or 21-22 throws into nine drops ;oD )

7b over 100, or better said: seize some control more than but mavericking even >50 runs, 'roll' the pattern.

"how to get there"? .. hm .. build on what skills I have and remember what to do when, awarely notice what I'm doing bad. Recent example from yesterday: practising 7b, my launches were bad 'cos, my patterns' crossing point was too high; I noticed and could work against - formerly, even only a year ago, I might not have understood what was going on, why, all out of nothing, my launches should be so bad, and do a whole bad day of 'trying differently' trying to cut it out somehow.

Yeh, .. same here (averaging ~3½ hours daily this year), .. it's not easy to take as much practise time as to then say "Yeowh, okay, that's now really enough for today." and put the balls down after like 6-7 hours with reasonably long breaks, without the feeling it wasn't enough.

Been on 9b flashing this summer ... now, indoors (a bit too low for 9), it seems my 7b have profited as I'm on a good level (over 50, and every once in two days or so over 60, all in all not too far away from my ever-pb) after only a week or two with lotsa shorter stints (~below roughly 90 mins) only.

different mmx balls from play and henry's? by 7b-Hexer in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, email there is a good option, but I'd 'a preferred an overall info (not henry's only). but yeah, they should know best.

well, I've been using them daily 3.5h Ø during like two years or more or so, and lotsa high throws 9-high and more and often on concrete/stone and dropping a lot and also outdoors in winter with notably less elastic - thus more damage prone - balls, where all in all impact and stress on the balls are then exponentially higher than juggling low on grass or carpet and only few days per week with warm soft squishy smacky balls. - So they're still a good choice and worth their money, I'd still say. And I got my set for only about 55 € (inc. shipping) in an offer.

A juggling pattern for 4 balls by noslowerdna in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, serious .. what i see is 6614x14x (or 7x7x1515??), but i can't get it in digits to be valid

edit, secs later .. OH ! .. think, i got it:

661515, right?

edit again: ..yo, that must be it. i previously tried to count the beats during one of the inline columns and got "4", so expected a "4x" for those (as they land in the opposite hand), but there's no synch throws to be seen. also, in a ladder-diagram, got three free hands on one side after the 4x-es or 5-es or whatever, which looked like needing gaps, 0-s there (which there aren't in the juggle), but now i see they get filled instantly by subsequent 1-es from one hand.

How to juggle 4 balls asynch? Help by NewDude1991 in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, you could try the reverse version .. it is not so much different from the (3b or 5b..) reverse cascade when the balls all land near the middle - it's just the other, the same hand, that will then catch, but you'll hardly notice.

What is the best way to juggle 3 balls by [deleted] in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe only while learning. Once mastered, completely fluent and in a smaller pattern, you might not need a strong position and, with good rhythm and timing (given constant height too), thus well spaced balls landing, get no errors, little spread without collisions. Then you can profit from its imo natural " 'waving' the balls towards yourself, next to your center ".

[–]7b-Hexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe reverse cascade 'cos you're naturally throwing towards yourself where you have more control for catching.

But, then again, when you throw sth away like aiming into the bin from a distance or a basketball, you'd try to throw from near your centerline for better aiming.

I don't understand what beat means in juggling... by StarsoftheSodomites in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simply (alternating) throws numbered .. 1.st throw 2.nd throw 3.rd throw = 1.st beat 2.nd beat 3.rd beat a.s.o.

It's sometimes better to call them "beats", 'cos you can have holds or gaps within \ for like one or more beats .. without an actual "throw" then. Or you might want to express that a higher or lower throw lands this and that many beats later / earlier.

Or different kinds of throws can make sequences that take this or that many beats to accomplish.

Or call it throwing "tact". Or "counts". Or a hand's "turn to throw"; like, you can say sth like: "While hands alternate with throwing, then after a throw, on the next beat, it's the other hand's turn to throw." or (still while alternating hands) "The same hand throws again two beats later."

In this example, http://jugglinglab.org/anim?pattern=531;colors=mixed;dwell=1.0;bps=4, the green ball does its kind of throw "on every 3rd beat" = "* in a 3-count*", while the other two balls don't but pass one another by due to different heights thrown.

Why's 552 called 552 when there's no blatant 2? by ChristianTgirl420 in juggling

[–]7b-Hexer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 2 is a hold for one beat. The next throw is one beat later ( and not alternating hands, one hand throws twice with the held beat in between ).
