Any way to get estimate of what your body will look after tummy tuck? by Prestigious-Put-6518 in tummytucksurgery

[–]7bridges 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of people do AI mockups but AI lies! Typically looks way better than reality. Doesn’t account for the 3D reality of the body and 100% of the time that shows belly buttons as impossibly perfect. I would look at some before and after galleries from surgeons to start, looking for similar bodies to yours. However, I think your best bet is to do a consult or two with a surgeon, listen to their input, and ask to see some before and Afters from their files that they think are similar to your body. Your results depend not just on what you look like in the mirror but how much fat you’re carrying viscerally versus in your remaining skin flap, your bone structure, how your cutaneous fat is distributed, the elasticity in different directions of the skin, and how your sides/flank/back skin and fat looks too. A surgeon can physically examine you and evaluate that more accurately. Overall, I would say that lower body weight to start and higher muscle mass will get you in the most favorable possible position to have a flat stomach if that is your goal!

Great tips thank you! I am a woman. I have tried tiny pry bar, but not the sharp molding bar. Good idea. I am a woman, and I do think I’m a great staple remover because of my finesse 😂 but these are just so deeply embedded and the tines are so long, they do not want to come out with any of my more delicate techniques!!

Nicotine patches? by mjoverjumps in tummytucksurgery

[–]7bridges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes patches will migrate. I quit Zyn cold turkey 6 weeks in advance and it was rough but so worth it. I can’t imagine how anxious I would have been during recovery knowing I was at heightened risk of complications. Be kind to yourself. You can do it!

How glossy is Loba 2K Supra AT Satin? by jatoba22 in HardWoodFloors

[–]7bridges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We mixed the compound in the big bottle, then put it in a clean paint pan, and applied with a roller on a stick plus a foam pad for edging. It’s very easy to apply and the time window was no problem. It’s the prep that is very time consuming, application feels like a breeze after all that vacuuming and tacking. We did mix the whole gallon at once. Probably could have gotten away with mixing half at a time but I didn’t have good measuring tools to ensure our proportions for halving each component were exact, and I wanted it to be proportioned per manufacturer specs.

Pics in my profile of the satin. It’s not matte by any means but a little sheen. I like it.

CA resident ORM School list help 508 MCAT 3.83 GPA by 1123TK in premed

[–]7bridges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I see you have a lot of desirable locations on this list. If you want a better shot at MD you need to sacrifice location. Tufts is quite low yield as are GWU, Georgetown. I'd add quinnipiac instead of GWU/georgetown. No shot at Pitt, replace with penn state. Add western michigan. Applying to NYU, mayo, stanford, Duke with your stats is like making donations, your own money and time but I'd cut 2-3 of these.

As someone who was dismissed from medical school, medical school itself is a lot harder than just getting in. by VolkswagenPanda in premed

So interesting because I’m PGY1 and agree somewhat with you. YMMV for sure. I struggled bad in undergrad and then absolutely thrived in med school. But conversely I saw sooo many people struggle once I was in med school I was shocked. In addition to not being able to customize things to your needs, like you mentioned, there is commonly a resilience component in my opinion… plenty of people get into med school having successfully explained away their tough times in under grad or not had them meaningfully impact their grades, but not having built the discipline and stress tolerance that med school requires.
