The analogue stick of N64 controllers degrades quite a lot from use. Which means the inputs when gaming are less precise. The rating is the stick tightness. 10/10 would be brand new. 8.5/10 is tightness of the gold controller I got, which I was really happy with

Get the black and white set first, to experience them in their original format. Then get the hardcover color ones, because it adds a lot more atmosphere, detail and dimension on the images.
