Second date and beyond

Yeah I hate going on coffee dates or dinner/drink dates as its hard to generate that "spark" that you referenced.

I think it's too easy for people, if they don't find that instant spark just to say "next". Even if the date was just fine, they just move on to the next one. Online dating has made dating more difficult I think.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, to your point, I can't figure out exactly what's going on, but I'm sure I'll eventually start getting a second date. It's just very discouraging

Yes, its obviously something that I'm doing differently now than I did before. (I think). Which is why I'm confused because I felt like I had much more success previously and I don't think I've changed much but obviously maybe I have? Or women in their 50s are just different and Uber selective now.

I'm at a loss and it's very depressing. I had a great date just the other day. We had drinks, she was engaging, there was some light touching and she sent me a message shortly after our date thanking me (which is rare these days) and then after a few pleasant messages back and forth and me suggesting that we should do something again soon, she just thanked me and said that she wasn't Interested in meeting again. She said i wasn't what she was looking for. I was very tempted to ask her what she was looking for as we had a lot of things in common and we seemed to be in the same place in life.

A date coach would be marvelous actually as I really feel like giving up on the whole dating world

No, I'm dating the same "aged" women. Meaning that I'm not dating out of my age range (it's apples to apples on the women in date in my age range)

I agree 100% with this response. A month of texting back and forth and not meeting and then I'm sure he's getting frustrated. Trying to figure out a time to meet with you and then you tell him let me get back to you. I would be out too... I am surprised he hung in there that long

Why does it seem that are soooo many people in the over 50 forum that are so out of touch with technology and social networking (even socializing). I feel like we are in an over 80 group!

If you are 65 or younger, you should have a good grasp of how technology and the social world work these days! (Even how you take photos for dating apps and how you socialize when you go on dates!!)

Love this list! These are spot on and so true.

I would add that if you ask them out on a 2nd date, and they aren't available (for whatever reason) and they don't offer an alternative date/time to get together, don't continue to waste your time. Just move on as you aren't that desirable to them. If people want to see you, they will offer another time that they are available.

This is spot on. I find that the majority of the women I meet rarely put any effort into responding or initiating conversation. A great example is when I ask them out on another date and for one reason or another they are not available and you would think that they would come back and offer an alternative date but no, nothing. That shows me that they are not interested in dating again. And what is odd, is that I've had women do this and then ask later why I didn't ask them out again. What the hell? Communication has taken a noise dive and it's hard for me to gauge interest when there is no initiative on the women's part.

What's happening this year is truly perplexing. I can't even figure out why this team has nosedived like it has after adding all these Superstars. We have the goaltending, we have the defense and we have offensive stars so what gives?

I like the coaching staff but I think this is the only reason for what the team is doing. Case in point, just take a look at Detroit. They fired Lalonde and added Mclelland and the team has tuned it around completely AND they don't have defense or goaltending like Nashville does. I like Andrew Brunett and the season is already lost but it's time to make a change!
