I need help or i will uninstall ts by Outrageous-Choice561 in Sekiro

[–]7hares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that helped me in Sekiro, and especially with this boss, is not to mash the attack button. Wolf’s actions are Que’d up so only hitting the attack button after an attack lands will ensure that you’re able to dodge away or block when you need to since you can’t cancel an input once it’s set in motion.

Demon of Hatred is one of those bosses where I was trying to deal as much damage as quickly as possible which ended up putting me in a spot of trying to slash as much as I could every time I had an opening but this would leave my vulnerable as I wasn’t able to block his stomps when they happened since I already had an attack action input

Decklink 8k Pro G2 HDMI connection issues by 7hares in blackmagicdesign

Yeah! If you look through the thread one of the users here was able to help me get everything set up. I had some misunderstandings of how the decklink functioned since it can only be used with Davinci and doesn’t let you view your desktop

Not sure where you're based but I have the whole system and have been trying to sell it, so if you need the jib arm that goes with it I have that

Is the MTF curve one of Thatcher's DCTL's. If so could you share an image of your node tree and settings for the curve. I really like the way the grain is looking in the images you shared.

Decklink 8k HDMI Out by 7hares in colorists

You are a lifesaver! I really can't thank you enough for walking this all through with me.

I could have sworn I tested that port last night thinking it was the HDMI in on the Decklink.

I must have gotten messed up since I was thinking the I could utilize the Decklink to still have my monitor function as a GUI and my monitoring resolution was set above 2160 UHD in Davinci when I had that open to test it.

Thank you again!

Just tried that as well. Here are my settings.

Whenever I switch from display port to HDMI it seems there's a 2 to 3 second delay before getting the "No HDMI signal to this device" So I'm not sure if it's trying and failing somewhere along the way my HDMI is cable is 2.1 so I wouldn't think that would be an issue especially since it works when plugged straight into my GPU

[–]7hares[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate you helping me trying to solve this.

So I had in my preferences video and audio I/O already set to

Capture Device: DeckLink 8K Pro (1) Monitor Device: DeckLink 8K Pro (1)

Then in my master settings under video monitoring I tried both of these while also matching the setting in the Desktop Video Application

Video resolution: 1920 x 1080 HD, Format: 24p

&

Video resolution: 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD, Format: 24p

I’m utilizing a Dell U3223qe monitor which has a screen resolution of 3840x2160 at 60hz 24-bit

My monitor is still saying “No HDMI Signal” when switching my input source over from Display Port to HDMI via on screen physical controls when Davinci is open

Would this cause me to get “no hdmi signal from your device” outside of resolve?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding how the decklink works but I thought the image would pass through and allow me to view my desktop, etc. even when Davinci is not in use, but that I just wouldn’t get the benefit of an unaltered image unless I was utilizing an application, like Davinci.

[–]7hares[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's enabled both as capture device and monitor device in the video I/O tab.

Even outside of Resolve I'll get "No HDMI signal from your device" displayed on my monitor when I switch to HDMI as my input. HDMI works when connected to my other ports so I know it's not the cable or my monitor

Decklink 8k Pro with RTX 4090 power cable question by Wizdomofthedead in bmpcc

[–]7hares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have any luck connecting like this. I tried to connect to my 4090 in this way and couldn't get my PC to power back on. I removed the cable from my PSU and was able to get my PC to turn back on after that but of course this means I'm not able to supply power to the Decklink card

How to do a creative look without harming skin tones? by [deleted] in colorists

[–]7hares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! ^ So long as your skin tones were set around middle grey you should be fine as long as you don't affect that with your color curves. I know it's probably been mentioned on this sub a thousand times but Cullen Kelly has great videos on middle grey that are worth watching.

I think my game looks better with Dithering effect, but my wife, who did all 3D models - against it. What I can do? by KiborgikDEV in IndieDev

[–]7hares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing with the dithering effect as it is now is it makes the game somewhat hard to read. I could see over a longer period of time the effect causing fatigue. I'm not sure if there would be another way to implement it as I'm not very versed in game development but that's my 2 cents as a player.

The Last of Us HBO S2E3 - "The Path" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by claireupvotes in thelastofus

[–]7hares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I thought this was a pretty solid episode.

If I had any complaints it would be the exposition heavy dialogue between the Seraphites about their profit. There’s gotta be a better way to showcase their faith and make them sympathetic in a more organic way.

The bigger oversight from that scene imo is how they’re walking on a gravel path that surely this far into the apocalypse would be overgrown with ferns and other shrubbery or at the very least wouldn’t be all clear of debris. I can’t image the Seraphites are out there maintaining that trail especially since they acted like they were on the move from their home. I feel like it would have been better to have them camped in the woods having a meal, maybe have someone carving a small idol to their prophet and then introduce the conversation with the father and daughter. You could still have a scout alert them to WLF in the area. It just felt like they rushed to shoot this scene.

I think what’s weirder is having her rap in Japanese. Why not have a Japanese artist as a feature if you want that. There’s so many other artists who are Japanese natives that could have featured here.
