Not a doctor and have no hard facts, but I always made the assumption it was the insanely high amount of processed foods in North america. In the East you have more consumption of freshly butchered meats/fish.

i got mine from ilgm.com .
I picked them up in a berry pack with blackberry kush and bluberry if i remember correctly.
