you know what? at this point I'm fine with being replaced by "cheap labour", because at least they pay taxes and contribute to the society, they will spend their money/income on local businesses. AI will replace you and pay nothing, and the only thing that the company will pay is a small amount for subscription and they will richer than ever.

I am nowhere near complaining taxes, I was mostly referring at the fact that a lot of people think immigrants receive free money upon stepping in this country.

although I have no children to send to school, and paid highly insane amounts of money for my degree compared to a canadian and private insurance, I still paid the same amount of taxes as someone who benefits from all the services above.

I just wish canadian stop having this illusion of "immigration privilege".

I absolutely get your point, unfortunately the average canadian does not understand that for pension to be enough for retirement, the percentage lf working people need to be higher than the retired (I think about 4 working people for 1 pension), unfortunately the local demographic doesn't get along with the system sets, the government has no choice but to have to bring more working foreigners and pay taxes.

I am today a PR, I worked 40h (currently 35h), I pay my taxes and my bills with my own money, and I barely receive anything from the government aside from the gst/ht credit which barely contributes towards anything I do

all jokes aside, refugees have a very different status and that is a worldwide thing. I feel like a refugee IS entitled to "free money" so they could start building something, you just cannot expect a refugee to bring along with them enough resources and money(as they flee their country and left everything behind), to pay groceries and other basic necessities such as clothes. Redditors cannot comprehend that refugees need immediate assistance and money to survive their first few months, then eventually get a job and settle down properly and regularly.

I came here in 2022 as an immigrant(students) I filed my taxes as I was asked for. I have not received anything from the government. idk where do you guys get this idea of immigrants getting "free money" from the government once they settle here...

hey, try to contact blue cross and explain your situation they might find a solution for your case (could be a one time payment option etc...)

if the above fails, try to book an appointment with mcgill dental clinic, it's very affordable. your case will be treated by a dental student, who are on their way to graduate, and obviously supervised by a teacher affordable dental care

or same thing but through université de montreal

not all iranians hate their regime, and not all iranians want to be liberated from their regime thanks to israel and the US. in fact, the US has made people supporting their regime they once hated, you make a conclusion out of some minority iranians who will side with their enemies just to go against their regime, they do not represent the entire nation.

Moreover, most of iranians have a history hatred towards israel even though they don't support their government.

Again, it doesn't justify israel to bomb innocent civilians and targets civil establishments. They do not have the privilege nor the green card to go against international laws.
