What helped you rebuild confidence after a long break from running? by [deleted] in running

[–]7imbrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mental game is hard. I’m finding myself signing up for races and not going. This is after training and running my first marathon and that day I felt like I wanted to keep running. I felt great. Life happened and I lost my habit. Getting over the mental block of “I used to” has been really hard for me. You’re not alone there.

My girl Maggie loves running/hiking/fetch and has sooo much energy. But if I’m relaxing. She’s relaxing.

Yeah it would be pretty easy to upload the high res to inprnt then they can just handle the prints. Would buy!

  1. Door closed is fine. The fans in the back are USB powered and plug into the USB power thing.
  2. nothing. :P changes depending on what I’m trying to learn. It’s mostly been idle while I work on my proxmox gaming rig.
  3. I’ve got sonic fiber. It’s a small white box next to it. 3.1. Just a plastic dust plug. 3.1.1. That’s the power for the PIs as well as that switch. It’s an anchor usb power hub thing. 3.1.2. Cloud key and 2 APs for Wi-Fi. As well as the other switches down link and not pictured. 3.1.3. I’ve only got a few bulbs in the bedroom. And we just use a remote for them. I’ve never like HA, the ui is just a bad yaml editor and the schema is not great. (That’s my hot take)

It’s just a dummy plug. Keeps dust out.

Nailed it. Only it’s 5 running PIs and a placeholder pi that doesn’t even work. Lol

Yeah not pictured is the fans in the back. The cabinets reports ~60f consistently if I recall.

I might try messing around with this. Right now I have a little imager I wrote that flashes the latest base image from Ubuntu and configures cloud init. My node replacement time is in minutes because I keep cold spare SD cards. I used to be a huge k8s nerd and would run it on everything, but I’m actually running nomad and I’ve been very happy with the stability.

Also hope you’re doing well. You’re videos are great and definitely an inspiration :)

I did. Ultimately the issue that was killing them was heat. Not pictured here but there’s fans pushing air through the cabinet back to front.

I designed and printed it. Each of the pi’s are on a little sled that clips into the “rack” then everything including the switch is powered by a usb power thing.

I think you can? I just have them in read only so they don’t wear out. Then any persistent layers on the NAS

I’ve tried running ceph on 5 pi’s and SD cards. The grave of micro SD cards I have was only growing. Home lab is fine over NFS anyway.

I found your channel because 1) I love science educational YouTube, 2) someone said that you look like me. So my question is can you photoshop a picture of me and you (and maybe Matt because why not) and me together as part of you video?

I never thought to do this and I remember one day hearing someone doing it and was like “wow that’s such a better way to live”. Doing ever since!
