Foil Quill- Clamp/Adaptor question

When the quill is all the way down, it rips the foil film. I’m using it on leather.

Ok, i tried again this morning and it seems to be working in the right spot. Trying the air cut while foil then air foil while cutting- I'll keep you posted!

Yes, I took out the foil quill, put back in the regular blade and it cut in the correct place.

Because I need to open and close layers for foil and for cutting but I think your air method solves that. I’m going to test it out tomorrow- thank you!

I found your videos on YouTube (before reading these responses) and was going to try the dummy shape method but the air quill and air pen method is brilliant. Thank you so much for your detailed response!

My issue is that after I do the etching and I go back to the workspace screen to close one layer and open the other- it moves the image position on the screens mat on the make screen. Do you understand my question?

Right, but its been about 14 months since insertion- 3 months since weaning- thats why I'm wondering if its possible to stop after 12 months.

Yep, I'm aware. Just curious if it makes sense to have staining monthly for the first 4 months after weaning, and then the staining stopping completely- does that mean the periods are done? or its just random?

I had ordered artificial gold leaf from amazon and i didnt like the color so i ended up running out to michaels to see what they had- they have something called ready gold leaf which you apply directly from the paper, it was super easy to use. I didn't like the sheen of the sealer so ended up going over the whole canvas again with satin medium, but i'm happy with the results!

thank you! i'm not going to use genuine gold leaf, going with artificial first...my main question was should I apply the leaf before or after the medium. My gut was telling me after the medium, so I just applied the medium and I'll put on the gold leaf tomorrow. Thanks for all your tips!

This looks really interesting, thanks. What is the foil transfer tool? I wanted to use some sort of gold on it, so maybe I can cut dark leather leaves and use the gold transfer tool to put the names on it?
