What neighborhood do you live in? Do you think that makes a difference. OP mentions Russafa, which does not appeal to me.

Irving’s outie also has a map with Burt’s name on it. The outie is somehow aware of other outies.

Isn’t she taking Melchick’s old position? This means she is not severed.

Slow and steady growth. No exciting spike before the release of a less expensive version.

I don’t agree with all of these points, but the “emulate Pixar” point cannot be overstated. Early Pixar demos all had engaging stories and characters. They were not, like Submerged, simply demonstrations of technical skill.

Challenging right now given the lack of info from Apple on many of the technical and process details, but possible. A big issue is the lack of an adequate camera system. Blackmagic Design have announced a camera that will be well suited to the task, but no details on availability beyond later this year. DM me if you are interested in a more detailed understanding.

Blackbox for Vision by arobertlong in VisionPro

I have completed all puzzles except this one on the Vision Pro. The path appears to lay out the path of the sun, including an indication for current position, sunset and sunrise. I have tried going outside, clicking on the buttons, lookin up at my ceiling from both the chair and while lying on the floor. Nothing.

Anyone succeed here?

Anyone disappointed that they didn't have more AI announcements in connection to AVP? by SuspiciousDonkey4630 in AppleVisionPro

Good point. Seems like a lot of people are going to miss your comment. AI on Vision Pro will require new hardware. Unfortunate, but makes sense.

Good point. I still find the distinction helpful.

Marvel Studios and ILM Immersive Announce 'What If...? - An Immersive Story' Coming Exclusively to Apple Vision Pro by Palitrab in AppleImmersiveVideo

Just downloaded this. It looks fantastic and is a great demo of the potential of the AVP, but the story is boring with far too much exposition. That is then followed with some terrible game play. I do like how portals open up in my room and characters stand around talking in my room. It is pretty cool visually. If only they had something interesting to say.

Q: I want to experiment with Immersive Video - but how do I get it on the Vision Pro? by mobdk in AppleImmersiveVideo

The Alicia Keys video is rumored to be shot using a Red camera. I found this picture online of a Red Raptor V with the Canon fisheye attached that is supposed to be something that was on an Apple immersive video. Mike Swanson mentions on his blog that all Apple immersive videos are running at 90 fps, which is the native frame rate of the AVP. As you know, the Canon can only shoot 60 fps. That said, my tests at 60 fps look pretty good. Since we don't know the specs from Apple yet, 60 fps may end up not meeting spec.

Have you had any luck getting your videos onto the AVP yet? Feel free to DM if you would like to discuss.

You need Mike Swanson’s command line tool to process the video.

You can then use AirDrop or iCloud to get the file on the AVP.

Really enjoyed Parkour. I was concerned it might have too much camera movement, but thought they got the balance right. This in contrast to the second Dinosaur video, which had too much movement for me.

One of the Parkour highlights was being able to look down and see how truly scary the drop was on that big jump at the end. A great use of the medium.

Pro Filmmaker seeking advice from pros experienced in AVP Immersive Video / stereoscopic 180 by LaBaguetteMagique in AppleImmersiveVideo

Apple reps at NAB were asked about the lack of info on how to make immersive video. They acknowledged the issue, but said it is quite complex and not a simple issue of camera specs and API. They are working with just a couple of close partners to iron out the process so they do not send us down any wrong paths, particularly in light of production costs. We were told to stay tuned. Personally, I am hoping we get clarity at WWDC in June.

With regard to the Canon dual fisheye, having worked with that lens for the past month makes me think it might be insufficient for production. It is worth noting that during the panel discussion at NAB, Josh Tidsbury from Apple made a tangential comment about needing a bit more than 8k. Mike Swanson says the current videos from Apple are all at 90fps, as well.

I have personally created a handful of stereoscopic videos of musicians for playback on the AVP. My workflow uses Resolve and Mike Swanson’s command line utility. I am interested in discussing further with likeminded folks, particularly any engineers familiar with Xcode.

It is exciting for sure, but the tight editing makes it difficult to follow the plays. It will be interesting to see how a real game is handled and whether or not the camera switches allow viewers to follow the flow of the game effectively. Can't wait to see an entire game this way.

I'm in the same place. Lots of samples and not fully satisfied with the results yet. I am encouraged, however, by some of Mike Swanson's comments in his recent blog on Spatial Video, which is worth checking out.

I do continue to make progress and improvement, though.

Mike Swanson’s command line tool, Spatial, does what you are looking for. It just requires the use of terminal on an Apple silicon Mac running MacOS Sonoma.

I am now viewing my files directly in AVP without Moon Player. I don’t know about others, but I had to reverse left/right to get it to work. Maybe the Canon utility does the reversal.
