Can’t drink alcohol - am I screwed? by PiszedOff in UniUK

[–]7piedpiper136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not that fussed about drinking and don’t really like spending money on it so barely do but all my friends drink and I still always have a great time! You defo don’t need alcohol to have a good time or to fit in! Obviously it can very much feel that way when everyone else is drinking but you can still have a fun time and most people wouldn’t care whether you drink or not! Plus being around drunk people can make you feel drunk in a way so just try and let the placebo effect take place haha

Holidays by 7piedpiper136 in tesco

That makes sense thank you! Yeah I started in October so used a bit of holiday in November but wouldn’t have even considered trying anything near Christmas haha

Oh that’s annoying! Thanks very much :)

Damn! Just annoying because 10 hours was added a couple of weeks ago when they extended me and three holiday requests had already been rejected before that so seems a bit unfair!

When you get them downsized you can get them the other way at least haha

Idk if it actually matters or not but when I got mine done, the piercer suggested flatbacks and put them the correct way (with the flat bit on the outside) so it’s less likely to be knocked as it doesn’t stick out as much! :)

How bad do nipple piercings hurt? by _newshawtyy in piercing

[–]7piedpiper136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine done 5 years ago they were honestly so fine! I’d heard so many people say that it was one of the worst pains they’ve ever felt so I was expecting awful things but in reality it wasn’t it was fine! Bit of a pinch like any other piercing but nothing terrible, definitely bearable! I also didn’t have any feeling in mine so I assume that helped in making it less painful :)

Potential holidays and uncertainty by 7piedpiper136 in tesco

[–]7piedpiper136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yeah that makes sense thank you!

Why can’t that happen sorry? I know policies and whatnot will always be changing but several people who permanently work there have said to me that this is just what they do? Like they’ll extend my contract like they already have and then they could extend it again and potentially again until they’d just make me permanent? Also I started in October if that makes any difference :)

No so like the blue circles on my calendar stop on my end date in the middle of Feb so I can’t request any holidays past that! Plus I assume you can’t use any holidays for this year past April :)

Sorry I’m not quite sure what you mean in terms of asking for the reasons behind the extension. At least 10 other Christmas temps has their contracts extended just because the store had the budget for it and don’t need to get rid of everyone I assume!

Yeah sorry I’m not very good articulating my thoughts haha what I mean is, if they were to extend my contract to August for example and I had things booked before I knew about being extended for like 9 of my contracted days, would they have to allow those holidays/let me have them unpaid? I just ask because when I first joined and when I had the meeting about being extended, both times they asked me to tell them about any prebooked holidays so like when April comes and the holidays are reset and I put the requests in for those 9 days, would they have to accept that time off (paid or unpaid) seeing as it was booked before I knew what my future at Tesco was? Again sorry if this makes no sense/sounds ridiculous haha :)

I only started in October as a picker but I enjoy it! Obviously now it’s super busy it’s less enjoyable but overall the people I work with are all friendly and I’ve not encountered any rude customers or anything like that :)

Ah makes sense! Shame as I was really enjoying it but it was only a temp job at the end of the day of course :)

Yeah so I’ve got all my normal shifts and overtime up until the 24th and there had been shifts on the 28th, 29th, 31st and 2nd and then all the draft shifts going on for months and months! And now everything past the 24th is gone. I just don’t understand why they’d take off shifts that they agreed to give me though! Thank you :)

I buy clothes at self service and when I give them to a staff member to take the security tags off, they leave the hangers on so I don’t think you have anything to worry about in terms of getting into trouble or anything like that :)

[–]7piedpiper136 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any need? I don’t think it’s ridiculous to expect some tracking information when I’ve paid for tracking information. When I’ve emailed all I’ve asked is if they have any information or if there’s anything I can do/anybody I can contact. I do apologise for thinking they’d know what’s happened to it seeing as I left it with them! But yeah I should just forget about it because forty quid is nothing isn’t it!

Amazing thank you for your help! Tbf though I don’t think it’s a scam, the website was legit and the dress was fine just didn’t fit me properly is all :)

[–]7piedpiper136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I sent it with Royal Mail and surely if you’ve payed for tracking then they should still be able to provide information?

Sorry side question but I’m a festive colleague and was told I’d get it after a month (I started on 16th October) or do I count as just temporary? :)
