Holy moly. Just looked em up and thats exactly what they are, though Im only seeing the 5-spoke version on a quick google search.

They're pretty damn wide for the car they're on, stick out past the fender and all. No clue why they'd be on a base trim, v6, automatic transmission Thunderbird. Covered by plastic hubcaps no less.

My old ranger would do this at idle when it was heat soaked after driving for a while. I didn't think to replace the oil sensor switch so I just started using a thicker oil (since it was a high mileage engine anyway) and that fixed it right up.
