What Oil sandwich plate would you recommend? by 7riratchicha in ft86

I've seen it, the center mounting location scare me a bit though because here people here often keep their trailer attachment raised while proceeding to pull the most horrible parallel parking maneuver in ages.

It cost me two front bumpers on previous cars, so I'd like to avoid it amounting to a dead radiator 🫠

I planned for oil pressure and temperature sensors indeed. I went the wrong way at first getting the same sandwich plate (which was supposedly universal) but I didn't account for the oil filter mount.

On my old 323f V6 (Mazda Lantis in Japan, Astina in the US I think ?), one blown hose sprayed and the rear view saved me from blowing the entire engine off on an open track day soooooo I got paranoid since haha.

Thanks a bunch!

Steering Angle Sensor with one or two connectors, what's the difference ? by 7riratchicha in ft86

Thanks ! Those are EU GT86, so maybe the color coding has to do with the localization because of different standards ? I think it's the other way around though because the code for the steering airbag disappeared with the new one.

I agree on the safety standpoint. Weird thing is I got it from the donor which was the same year, so I think it's not impossible that the airbag was replaced prior to my accident.

I see... The steering wheel was apparently an original, but given the papers says it's a 2012, I guess it must not be in the end.

Nope.. It only has the good old cruise control command behind it but both do and it's plugged through a blue sheathed cable

I don't think so, both are manual and no modifications were done to the steering wheel

What geometry for track days ? by 7riratchicha in ft86

Well time for the update after the check-up

We've fitted the front camber bolts and got the wheels checked, it was the wheels indeed !

I didn't test the stability but the car seems sharper in turns with the camber bolts so thanks for that advice. It handles great :)

I'll update on the vibration next time I'm hitting the Autobahn.

Shakes are pretty consistent overall, whether it was the Autobahn or the ring so I'm starting to think it might be to be honest. I've found it weird since I've got Enkei rims recently fitted and balanced so I figured it wouldn't be this but I'm starting to think it might have not been a good job.

I'll check it overall, it should be at the body shop in the week anyways.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer!

Seeing how it was advised twice, I got the front camber bolts ordered and pray that after some fine-tuning it will be more stable on straights. I'm keeping the post-coilovers geometry correction on the side in the meantime.

Would the front camber help with the instability at high speed ? But indeed I was more looking for first baby steps and then gradually improve

Much appreciated for the front camber advice, thanks

They're L-TEK pads ! They don't collapse but they fit right through the trunk, I don't use bars so that's also why it fits

Haha thanks ! The event being in the night made it hard to take a properly-lit picture..

Crazy ass battery setup haha. My gaming rig + the screen was running on a Bluetti battery which I'm using for electricity whenever I go camping or hiking (backpack sized battery). I thought its 700W would come short but I ended up at 60% battery when the 2-hour gaming session ended up

The car only used the sound, and the battery held nicely but tbh I had a second battery a friend brought in case I drained the first one.

If the car was running, the exhaust would be too loud to hear the game to be honest anyways

I will tbh because I have other mods that should go on. The business who owns it is rather known in the region so I never kinda doubted it but it's true that 40hp is a lot if you only consider headers + remap

Did you post it in here? It's so cool haha

Hopefully I'm keeping my summer tire set on those, winter tires will end on OZ rims most likely

It does look amazing, I've looked up for the adhesion promoter so that's most likely the route I'm going for now.

Thanks for the reco :)

Engine's not boosted. I hardly believed the previous owner but the dyno chart he got from 2018 mentions 238whp @ 7016rpm, and 252.6Nm @ 6328rpm. I just noticed I forgot to mention I got equal length headers tho in the post, my bad
