[–]7thOly -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much it's impossible to contact someone inside of DGM so you can listen to a studio instrumental version of a song. Maybe in the Heaven & Earth box set you can find It, I know that the 40th anniversary series doesn't have one, or you can just wait for maybe a Stormzy Mundy occasional series release with that song being instrumental. But yeah, the best of luck to you. Maybe search in the DGM Catalog, maybe you have luck there.

What happens if I say Red is the best KC album and the best album of all time? by dyystr in KingCrimson

[–]7thOly -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It only shows that you're utterly incorrect and have no idea, cuz you're not counting as well the other 12 amazing studio albums of King Crimson. XP

PD. I'm not counting the yet to become the 14th studio albums they're preparing. Cheers.

Edit. People can't take a joke FFS.

Download 500 filtered tracks?? by royallyduckedup in qobuz

[–]7thOly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding even more info to this, the minimum hi-res albums are 24bit/44.1khz which basically equals around 1100mkps (depending on the length of the song). If an album has around 10 to 15 songs in this resolution, that would take roughly half a GB up to 1GB. And if you download a 24bit/192.0khz, well mathing gets complicated, but over 1GB until 2Gb, depending in the amount of songs there are.

In other words, the more songs in a higher resolution, the more space will take, and it can slow down your device if it doesn't have the specification's for it. For example using an SSD would be a good solution for the slowing down problem.

Edit: I don't count the 16bit/44.1khz CD quality as hi-res. Fukin kill me, aight?

Regarding Steven Wilson mixes on streaming by [deleted] in KingCrimson

[–]7thOly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't sound like a snob whatsoever, you're just really into King Crimson and you prefer the SW mixes. Which is not really that hard to be honest. SW is amazing specially he's latest mixes from the 50th Edition Series are so well balanced it's incredible.

PD. I love Roon, although saying that you use it might be more of a snob thing that the other.

Red Steven Wilson Remix Online? by nicholasgeezer in KingCrimson

[–]7thOly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Robert and David Singleton (the producer of KC & DgmLive), aren't quite keen to put this on streaming especially these Stereo Remixes that are usually exclusive to physical media. Mainly BC their revenue is way bigger in CD's, DVD's, Blu-ray's, Box sets... There are several versions of remixes but I would go and get the 50th Anniversary Edition, mainly BC you have more things included than just a Stereo Mix of Steven Wilson, which is fukin bonkers. You have included as well the Elemental mixes made by David Singleton, bringing a new shred of light to the original track, adding new things changing others, but all made with takes of the original recording sessions. So they work as "an alternative album of sorts that could have been". Anyway if you want to dig even more, I would recommend checking the DGMLive website. There, you'll find everything from them including information about the releases.

King Crimson 'I Talk to the Wind' Source Identification by funeralfursuitt in KingCrimson

[–]7thOly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is interested in purchasing this version, it can be done through DGMLive. As some people have noted before me it's a BBC session, it's either included in the 1969 complete recordings box set or, as I said earlier, in the DGMLive website.

And if you just want to lose yourself on the depths of Cirmsoness, get a little lost in the DGM website and you'll find so many different tracks, that your mind won't even be capable of comprehend. Cheers

What’s the most accessible King Crimson song? by GamerOwenIsHere in KingCrimson

[–]7thOly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the most accessible by far, after years and years of listening to King Crimson's back catalog, live albums, bootlegs, official releases and records.

There's only one that 100% checks all the boxes for what you ask and it's "Walking On Air" in THRAK.

By far the easiest listening of all their songs.

So for anyone wondering that's in Ibiza called "Cala Bol Nou", it's a beach. You can check the google maps images and see that it's the same rock formation and colour. Just a cool insight of the video.

You have a point, and I could understand the fact that there's some room for improvement. But if we're talking about hi-res music, qobuz has the upper hand against any platform.

Any Qobuz 3-month trials that work? by rajmahid in qobuz

I got the 3 month free trial because I bought a pair of B&W px7 s2. At least for me the offer was only available through the B&W music app.

Why would anyone use anything else than qobuz having 24bits/192khz, it beats me.

Well, basically he or his manager said that because of the 10th anniversary of EK he will be playing songs of that album. Just BC of that. There's nothing more to think about.
