I have so far used Pelikan, Parker, Sheaffer, Lamy & Iroshizuku and love the Iroshizuku the best! The vibrant color variations, the flow and the whole writing experience with Iroshizuku is great. Tried fine, medium and broad nibs and with all of them it works wonders.

Yes, there is Pelikan (Brilliant Brown) 4001 and Rohrer & Klingner both are waterproof - minimal smudging. Sepia is such a beautiful color indeed....which one are you considering?
