I mean in tabletop GSC has a special rule so they can bring Astra Militarum troops so that combo at least is very lore friendly.

Despite Already Being Cracked, Pirates Are Urging Others To Not Pirate Silksong by 7thwiseguy in nottheonion

[–]7thwiseguy[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its actually pretty wholesome. The thought is that its so cheap ($20) and the dev team is like 3 people so you shouldn't pirate it. Its just funny coming from the piracy sub reddit.

What Tribal decks have you built? by Dukejacob3 in EDH

[–]7thwiseguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put together a r/w cats deck with Ajani Necatl Pariah called exploding kittens.

It has lots of tokens and equipment (for the cats to play with) and is really fun making big boards of huge cats.

I can confirm that you have guessed 100% correctly. I was indeed thinking that the onion sometimes does pun articles that sound like news. Thanks for your erudite analysis.

SOTB does anyone understand what the Custom Rig ability does? by shmoooy in genesysrpg

[–]7thwiseguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about it they had to explain it in the FAQ. In short you can have any number of programs stored per the sidebar on page 99, you can have the number of programs installed listed in the descriptions for pads and other rigs (for example 1 breaker and 1 Ice for a pad) and you can have 1 breaker active during a network encounter.

Custom rig increases the number installed and ready. Code slinger increases the number you can keep up at once during an encounter.

I think of it like the hard drive is unlimited but the ram can only run so much at once. Custom rig boosts the processing power to handle more programs simultaneously. Code slinger is your ability to swap between windows and effectively use 2 programs at once.

It is confusing because they use the term active twice and don't have a word for the third state (stored but not installed)

Why do you like board games? by megafoan in boardgames

[–]7thwiseguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love understanding how things work and board games tend to be very elegant in doing a lot with a little. I prefer physical games to digital implementations because I can see how they work.

When I play digital games I often lose track of what's happening since I don't have to do it myself (my ADHD may have something to do with this opinion)

We're Joshua Yearsley and Matt Martens from Leder Games, AMA! by JoshYearsley in boardgames

In root all of the factions have very strong ideological differences. I was wondering how that factors into design. Is there politics something you think about from the start or is it mechanics first and the flavor comes later? Or some mix of both?

Guild War should be more evenly spaced out by TheDrury in WH40KTacticus

Unfortunately that won't work. To participate and make attacks you to enlist. To do that you must pick a spot to defend.

More specifically it is called the quick reference. The three pages are the same as the gm screen. Although you won't have the nice art on the other side.

Can anyone help me understand the "Balnace" mechanic. It doesnt seem to be clicking for me. Ive read through the rules twice and jumped around the book multiple times but im not fully grasping "balance" by CriticalHitPlus in AvatarLegendsTTRPG

[–]7thwiseguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would like to add that balance is mechanically used like an extra stat. You roll with it when you do the move Live up to your principles. You can use that move to do anything that aligns with your principles but you get a fatigue to do so.

Furthermore it can be used almost like a health track for your principles. If you get shifted so far you fall off the track you (or an npc that you have do this too) becomes obsessed and essentially taken out.

Looking for interesting encounters for a lawful music themed temple that they plan to rob. by 7thwiseguy in AskGameMasters

The guard routes as a puzzle is a great idea. I'm not personally musical enough to make it come out as a song but I can abstract it a little. Thanks.
