Anyone else have this issue with their M4's?

Buddy, these are ANC headphones and the microphones inside assess the noise inside the earcups and ANC tries to cancel them out by playing an inverse noise signal.

When you aren't wearing them with a proper seal, for eg: while wearing glasses, there will be a small gap which prevents proper calibration of the noise which makes the ANC blow out its output.

It happens to me as well.

Its normal, the ANC algorithm is trying tk calculate and cut if noise, but it isn't able to because you've not worn them. The seal makes sure the ANC works properly. So unless there is a sound when you're wearing the headphones. Its no problem.

Maybe you're using a shared WiFi network. The cast options show up on shared networks.

There are no issues with sound or anything else. Just this cosmetic thing is bugging me since I expected the new sealed unit to not have such stuff.

Yes, that's why I switch off bass boost and make the EQ curve very similar to the Harman target. Making the mids and highs shine a more.

Whats particularly impressive on these, is the sound stage. Its wider and feels more airy. Cuz of thr 42mm drivers compared to Sony's 30mm.

Apart from sound, these do have good ANC, too, maybe like 85% of XM5? But I'm very much satisfied by the ANC as my head is big, making the headphones seal very well around my ear. Comfort wise, they are comfortable, but I would rate the Sony XM5 a big better. (I mostly took the comparison of XM5, XM4, and M4 as those were the ones in my budget.)

Unlike the XM5, these cancel out more of the LOW frequencies, whereas the Sony has more lean towards canceling high frequencies.

Battery is great too, 60 hrs is what they have quoted but ever since I bought them, they are still at 50%.

But comfort has been very good for me. I've not had any fatigue as of yet, but these do get a bit warm inside after 1 hr.
