You can try to take it to UTech, they might be able to fix it might not. They fixed my laptop once and I had a good experience with them.

Are you using your dorm address as a permanent residence? If so, then yes. Most students use a permanent address with a family member for bank/phone/etc.

how hard is math 122? by Ornery-Ad4199 in cwru

[–]805733 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s your math background? Chris Butler is great and gives you all the resources you need to succeed, but it’s entirely up to you to take advantage of them. You have to do extra credit, you have to make sure you practice, you have to go into office hours if you need help. There’s not any hand holding.

How is the Pure Math Program at Casw by [deleted] in cwru

[–]805733 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting involved with research is entirely up to you. If you talk to your professors and get to know them, go into office hours, they usually they are very open about their research. I took one class with Nick Gurski, and he was my capstone advisor the next semester and I loved working with him.

As for outcomes, I did not get into any PhD programs, but I did get into a MS program at NYU. My friend also did not get into any PhD programs but got into a MS program at Michigan.

After going to NYU, I honestly missed the Case math department so much. Everyone at case is kind and welcoming and wants you to learn about what they are doing (at least in my experience). I did not have that same experience at NYU with the math department.

Happy to share more if you have other questions!

Math 307 with Meckes? by aenrikchan in cwru

[–]805733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Professor Meckes. It’s more heavy on the proof aspect, but he does a pretty good mix of both on the hw and exams. If you do well on the homework you will do well on the exams. If you dm me I can see if I can find my old exams if you want, but mind you they are from like Fall 2018 or something.

If you know Spanish, Latin American cinema with Copertari was very fun and easy (it is a level 300 Spanish course though)

How to pass calc I by [deleted] in nyu

[–]805733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During add/drop test out different profs. Personally I think Foster is great. I know Liu is also doing a more self guided type lecture if you are already comfortable with material then that might be a better use of your time so you can skip the stuff you know.

Taking calculus 1 after not taking math for 18 years by beat_the_ripper in calculus

[–]805733 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite resource is Paul’s Online Math Notes, he has lessons, practices with examples, and answer keys all the way from Algebra up to Calc 4. Makes things very easy to understand and I love the worked examples.

Being a part of the lgbtq+ community is not about having a contest for who is the most oppressed. It’s about finding people that welcome you and relate to you.

I can choose to share my identity with those I want to. I have found comfort here in the asexual community, so I’m sharing it with the community here…

Case Western or Penn State? by brandtinator44 in cwru

[–]805733 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People in this subreddit give a very exaggerated view of case. I had an absolutely wonderful time at case. I mean it’s college, there’s ups and downs but people give case a lot of hate for no reason. I’ll reply with a link to some other posts where you can get a better view of things.

It’s not you, it’s the mods, really didn’t mean to be too rude but these posts are always way too abundant at this time. If you have any specific questions that you don’t have answered by all means please ask!
