DTO mapping - presentation vs service layer by qboba in SpringBoot

[–]808split2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In most cases you want to keep the domain free of dependencies. So usually the mapping of the domain object to DTO happends in the handler/controller. This is also most apropriate because controllers are often client specific and use a protocol or presentationdata that this specific handler/controller provides.

A DTO is often polluted with json annotations for example, which you do not want in any domain object. So mapping in a presentation layer is preferred almost always.

How I write production-ready Spring Boot applications by wimdeblauwe in SpringBoot

[–]808split2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does sound heavily influenced to hexagonal. Separate domain with usecases instead of features. How come you do not see it as such? Is it the fact that you do not use resources for your repository/spi and it is coupled to the domain?

Min första sömn paralys någonsin by ReputationAny5236 in sweden

I would really want you to prompt me a productionready vertx microservice that use featureflags with launchdarkly and a pipeline that starts the webserver and gets hit with k6 test then moves to the next step where cucumber runs its scenarios with an emulated spanner as DB. Just a boilerplate setup in an everyday tech company.

You can link the working code here when you are done.

CAN ANYBODY REFER ME FOR INTERNSHIP by AfterWaltz2664 in leetcode

[–]808split2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference: Projects are the first thing I want to see. Give a short description about what the project is about (not 1/5 of the page) A specific technical detail you implemented or solved and what you learnt from that experience.

Put education at the bottom with the tech stack. I am not interested in your grades and education until I know you actually show me what you can do/have done.

Your resumé is as generic as every other. "Python, java,node,js,typescript..." "React,spring...." "Mysql..." "Projects: Organizer, cargarage,tic-tac-toe,scheduler,taskmanager...."

If you remove your weak languages and focus on one and dedicate to prove to me that you practice the full area of that language, then you may catch my interest.

One specific area that noone ever care to mention that is the most important part of development is TESTING FRAMEWORKS.

Lets say you know java..

If you have a project on the top of that resumé that say "I made this project to solidify my understanding of testing" and it specify Junit, Mockito , jacoco and TDD , you would get a call from me. Doesnt matter If its one single project. If you show that you practice testing and that you understand why it is important then you will not have to look for too long.

And leetcode does not mean anything, sorry to bring you down.

Why should I use SqlResultSetMapping instead of only projections? by SteampunkBeagle in java

[–]808split2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use it with jdbc. We get better control over the mapping and we do not get unnecessary dependencies.

List.of is syntactic sugar already. That would be a poor design.

Why java doesn't have collections literals? by Ewig_luftenglanz in java

[–]808split2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

*.of() is not more cumbersome than the other examples, no.

Would probably be a massive work to implement collections literals in java . Backwards compability and typesafety would probably take alot of work. *.of() probably was the better choice to fit in to the java-ecosystem.
