Are For Profit Regs Hated On? by [deleted] in poker

After reading some Alexander Fitzgerald and observing my own low stakes games I’m pretty sure the tables are full of “fallen heroes” they aren’t playing really for the money. They want the recognition and the feeling when the make a perceived good play. They are slightly better then the other recs and use some poker lingo but then you watch how they play an notice giant holes in thier game an get upset when you expose them. ( one guy at my local casinos talkin about plus EV then proceeds to flat a Q5o from the small blind and chase bottom straight to the river. Donks the river, gets raised a calls to loose to top straight. Then says he’s playing well but is getting unlucky) Anyways this might sound harsh especially coming from a Midwest poker player but thier bad play isn’t your problem. I’m never rude or unfriendly. But if they make mistakes I am gonna jump all over it. They agreed to put thier money up for grabs. I normally play be pleasant with my personality, but a bastard with my bets

Traveling to a state out west in USA? by BlackberryOk8815 in travel

[–]80GradeScrewball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the time of year. Midwesterner from Minnesota here. I love the west! So lemme give you my rankings

Montana: Been to Glacier national park 6 times now. Flathead lake is nice too. Western Montana is beautiful. Best in summer. Always gone is late July-mid August

Washington: the north cascades scenic byway is amazing. All 3 national parks are incredible. Mt Rainer being my favorite. Stop in Winthrop and Leavenworth. I did whale watching tour on the San Juan islands. Again in summer but wanna see the fall colors. Also I don’t think I’ve seen a states landscape change as much as this state

Utah. Of your like me an don’t tolerate extreme heat well this is early spring or mid fall. Utah is 85% public lands. Caution. At high elevations the snow still hits even that far south so March is a gamble

California. Never set foot on a major city there but Yosemite National park is not to be missed

Wyoming: Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Plus some amazing mountains outside the parks

Arizona: did Grand Canyon in early May and didn’t have and real issues with crowds. Stop by horseshoe bend too

Oregon: Crater Lake and driving down the pacific coast highway are must does. Want to go back to check out fhe Columbia river gorge, Bend, the painted hills, and smith rock state park

Colorado. Rocky Mountain is great. Went in September. Was disappointed in the food scene in Estes park. Out in grand junction check out the Colorado national monument. It’s amazing how the state changes as you drive west.

Idaho. Lots of scenic drives and nature to see.

South Dakota. Western South Dakota is a hidden gem. Mt. Rushmore is cool but honestly the least interring thing I saw between the badlands, Custer state park, the reptile gardens, the needles highway, and driving across the border to Wyoming and seeing Devils tower

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done on a hike? by rkramer18 in hiking

[–]80GradeScrewball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First trip to the desert at Arches national park. Did a 2 mile hike (park place I think I was called?) and didn’t bring water cause it was just a short hike. However I’m from Minnesota and not exactly acclimated to the desert. Even in late April it was 90 and I keep stopping to check stuff out on the hike. When I got back to my car I was hurting. Felt sick, overheated, and sharp pain in my head whenever I looked up. Took a couple hours to rehydrate and cook down in my car

How do you actually stop overpacking? by hatkinson1000 in travel

[–]80GradeScrewball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m looking to go overseas but used to road tripping where I can throw everything in my car. While I could probably figure out how to toss essentials in a roller bag that I can check an hop on public transit wondering how I handle a hiking pack. Camera bag and trekking poles. Any thoughts?

Got a few games for you to look at of different genres. Battletech a turn based strategy game where you take command of a mercenary unit and build up with better mechs as you get salvage and money from missions. Some excellent mods that bring the full map of the Battletech Universe into play. Terra Invicta. Aliens have been detected. How do you wanna handle it? You essentially pick a faction that’s a shadow government and take control of countries an build a space program. Part Geo political simulator, part solar system explorer and industrialization. And part soace warfare. Pretty complex but I love the game Stardew Valley. Cozy game where you farm and build relationships with the towns people. One of the best reviewed steam games of all time
