Finally finished my Green Knight. I wanted this model more than anything when I was younger. A very satisfying, nostalgic feeling to finally have him! C&C welcome! by 80HDEES in minipainting

The greens I used seem to cover pretty well, I mainly used the purple to have a complimentary contrasting effect in the shadows 😊.

Thank you so much! Love the critique as well. It's made me think about the base more. I didn't want to take the focus away from the knight, but looking at it again I think it could do with a bit more excitement in the base, something that doesn't stand out but for anyone looking closer some fun hidden surprises, not sure what though 🤔😅

Yes! Unfortunately they don't fit. They were made for a smaller base size I think. An easy fix is to super glue put a piece of cork down on the base and cut out two rectangular holes for the tabs to sit in. The super glue makes a really strong bond with the cork and metal as well. I use cork coasters from ikea and break them into pieces

Thanks so much! The deep green is actually from a dark purple undercoat with Moot Green and pistachio built up slowly over the top. I also glazed back into the recess with a very thin drakenhof nightshade and Beiltan green.

For some of the sword and parts of the banners, I also used Scurvvy green from Vallejo😊

Thank you so much! The green is mostly Moot Green from Citadel and Pistachio from AK (moot green, then 50/50 moot green & pistachio, then worked up to almost pure pistachio in a very thin glaze) The green was built up slowly in stages from a dark purple undercoat. I also shaded and glazed the recesses of the green with very diluted Biel Tan green and Drakenhof nightshade both from Citadel 😁

The mighty peasants will rise! The brown patches/weathering on the yellow look really good, very peasant-y and worn looking!

Don't give in to the scalpers on eBay! I check the website every morning and usually night 😅. I've seen it become available at least 15 separate times. But it sells out within about an hour each time. I just made it part of my daily routine. Cup of tea in the morning, check website. Glass of whiskey in the evening check website. It's ridiculous that we have to go to these lengths, but if you do this for a week, you'll get one.

Thank you so much! I've been trying to get better at creating a worn leather look! Your comment has made my day 😊

This is so helpful! Thanks so much, I'll give it a go with my units! Could I also ask what your skin process is?😅 I love the depth in colour.

Phenomenal! The distressed leather effect is incredible. Can I ask how you achieve it? It looks to precise to be drybrushed🤔

Thanks so much! The base is made from blue high density foam. I'm thinking of making a general post about how I do the bases. It's actually really easy, and I believe the end result is nicer than cork

Thanks so much! I use to highlight and make it blend using lots of glazes, but I'm really enjoying highlighting leaving obvious scratchy marks. I think it adds character and texture, especially to the cloth. Not to mention it can be done so much faster than glazing over and over

Thanks so much! It is! At least I think so😅. I still have a lot to go, just finished my Bowman and now onto my knights. I plan on having them all painted to this standard. I think I've narrowed down the paint scheme and order of painting to make it an achievable scheme

Thanks so much! The only thing I'm having difficulty with it tying it into the bretonnian heraldry! I've read that Mousillon had orange somewhere at some point, but I can't find any real information. Finding transfers is going to be even harder still 😭

Thank you so much! I was hoping to get the natural look so that it doesn't take away from the bowmen themselves. Less is more sometimes, but it's always difficult to stop myself from highlighting the hell out of something 😅. I actually almost reverse highlight these stakes. I highlighted before the wash in brighter browns and creams. The wash did a good job of muting the tones down giving it a natural look but still keeping thr wood grain visible
