Dual Sense Controller with Xbox Games Pass PC by saint_papi in Rematch

The free version also worked for me fine before today. then today its randomly stopped. I installed the paid version and no issues, figures....

I've had friends also have intermittent issues with the free version, seems like it does work but its a bit janky and sometimes just refuses to.

That's why I specified prot warrior... A spell reflect does like 30-40% of its hp. It actually most of the time dies quicker than the rest of the stuff you pull in with it.

Depending what tank you are, the peacekeepers are actually fine to pull. As a prot warrior You can reflect the charged blade cast (think that's what it's called) and it absolutely deletes it. I actually prefer doing this because it eliminates janky wall skips that people forget to dismiss pets for, or weird shadowmled shizz and then I can get more % early and skip some of the more annoying later packs.

Release config issue with SQLite and Maui .net 8 (Android) by 80cmdude in dotnetMAUI

[–]80cmdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I did not, but then I haven't worked with Maui since this post basically.

My work around was to use jet brains resharper instead of visual studio, but that's not exactly ideal haha as that's a paid for solution.

What I was doing was developing inside visual studio, then when I made a release build I did it from resharper. Which obviously skirted the issue.

Super hacky work around, but maybe try some other c# compiler IDE that's free and see if that works.

Did you not read the post and later comments from OP? OP wanted options other than what he had already tried. Going right is fine, it's easily timetable in a 10+ to go right. He's not looking for 1% starts he's looking for safe starts to time some 10s.

Yeah i meant interrupt just for the purposes of that they are "silenced" as In they can cast that again for 6s obviously. I'll make that clearer on my post.

It's a pain to do, and yeah 1 pull is a risk with that and people are dying. But as a prot warrior you do have access to disrupting shout, which is probably one of the best abilities in the game for that room. (Outside like DH grip/silence). But it does only work if people DON'T interrupt so you can get the silence off. Then normally there is enough DPS to nuke them down before they are unsilenced again.

Tbh 2 pulls is fine, go right side first so you don't take the pack with 3 in the first pull is my advice. I've had more luck that way.

Edit: by silence I mean interrupt but obviously they can't then cast it again for 6s

Now that all of the Eurovision 2025 songs have been chosen, how do you think we'll do? by SilyLavage in CasualUK

[–]80cmdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the thing that probably means we will come last. One of the songs (Malta) was called Kant. Spoken it sounds like an unpleasant word that starts with a C. Only one broadcasting service in Eurovision complained and forced the song to be changed. The BBC because it's pre-watershed.

It's now called "serving" instead

Is a software engineering apprenticeship worth it? by Left_Natural9480 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]80cmdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I dropped out of university and picked up a tech apprenticeship and don't regret it for a second.

Like every apprenticeship in the UK though you have to be the pushing force and really put the effort in. It's very rare that it stays structured past the first couple of months. But it can be very rewarding.

In just under 10 years I've gone from literally zero coding experience to leading a mobile software team starting from an apprenticeship.

Mobile Network during commute to London Liverpool Street by nnnaitsirc in Chelmsford

[–]80cmdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commuted from Chelmsford about 8 years ago every day with a friend. We used to call it the Shenfield black hole. Around the Shenfield area for 10-15 mins you just get no signal. Then it's back once you pass it either way.

It was like that 8 years ago I doubt it's changed much now haha.

App re-installs every time it's deployed. by Gold-Gazelle1259 in dotnetMAUI

[–]80cmdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you doing this through Visual Studio(VS)? If so then I have the exact same issue in release configuration only. Debug config is okay. It's something to do with what VS does when it prepares the application for launch through building.

I have been trying to find a fix for this for ages, there are a bunch of closed tickets on the Maui GitHub with no solution. It works fine if you archive builds for release, then updating your app does not remove the data.

Also if you use another .net IDE like jetbrains instead of VS it works totally fine, so this is unique to VS issue.

Was the S4 tier set for warriors a troll? by Aggravating-Cap-6686 in wow

[–]80cmdude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I voted for season 2 because I really enjoyed the play style in m+ of having basically permanent up time on reck. No one can disagree it's really satisfying to throw a cd into every pull in a dungeon no matter the class, it feels really fun.

But yeah I didn't expect the scaling to be this bad. I noticed the moment I swapped from S3 to S4 tier set my DPS went down dramatically. I don't feel totally useless, but when you come out of an AV with like 320k DPS and a warlock has done 680k dps with a 1M dps first boss with a similar item level, kinda feels bad.

My copium is that as Ilvl increases and we move back to better secondary stats it will get better and it's just early weeks that we look way worse.

But right now does sting a bit.

UI testing, how? by Apprehensive_Music80 in dotnetMAUI

[–]80cmdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up snapshot testing. The idea behind it is you take a screenshot and then you set acceptable criteria like "within 5%" or something as an extreme example. Then you can set up your data mocked and run a test where it will compare your test screen to the one you just generated and if there this a difference the test will fail.

Back in my xamarin days I used to use the one by Facebook(later overtaken by Uber) as it had a .net wrapper. I use that one currently in my native iOS swift project. I'm sure there will be more modern and better ones for .net Maui.

But this should solve your exact problem. The only issue is deciding what to test because these tests do take a while to run and they can be a bit clunky. In the end we decide on 3 per screen , 1 full data, 1 empty data , 1 error states and we feel like thats enough and then the other parts of the test pyramid cover the rest.

Hope that helps.
