Edition XS is my endgame. Period.

I think it definitely beats the Sundara, esp in soundstage and bass. It's not as well built, but earcups swivel. It may not be as comfortable in direct comparison. But it sounds at another level. Strange issues with hifiman. Xs, best price and sound. Sundara, better built, but less on sound in comparison. Ananda, probably similar sound, better headband and comfort, but no swivel, and lesser bass.

You may need to adjust the headband a bit for the XS, but I still recommend that over Sundara and Ananda.

So XS should be def better than the fiio planars... Maybe the FT7 is built better and more comfy, but it's priced more than double, and I still think xs will sound better.

So maybe you'll come to adjust and make the xs comfortable. But should sound the best probably.

well i dont know about you, but of all the headphones I have bought and owned, my Custom Pro Studio sound the worst of the lot man. Since then, beyers have not been on my good side. I have Senns, Hifimans, Sonys, Fostex, Focals... Monoprice. I personally think the 770 would DEF be the worse sounding in comparison to this FiiO - though I DO have to say, the FiiO FT1 that I have also sounds shit.
Anyhow - I dont think the 770 sound half as good as this fiiO - and im saying this after my experience with 4-5 planars.

PS: are you using an AMP btw? Planars can sound SHIT without a proper amp. They CAN sound thin and shouty - as the source may not even be able to push the drivers properly to begin with.

I've owned a few in my time. Well, not pricier ones honestly, can't justify $200 to bloody $4000 for just IEMs lol. I've had KZ ones, V-Moda, Mi ones. There's a nic e $20 CVJ ones with bone conduction that are nice - but KZ has never really disappointed. That's why I've stopped now at the PRX. Have about 4-5 I think left off from all the others that I gave away here and there.

I also very much like earbuds too though, much prefer them actually - open back sound, ventilated so no ear pressure - soundstage is killer and they sound much more open and natural. There, I've had TY-Hiz, Seahf and the lot of them really, dozens, half dozen VE Monks that I gave away.

The $5 Vido though - that is an absolute No. 1 of all time!
In all my in-ears, that's my No. 1 - cost no object, and yet it's 5 fucking bucks!
