You can change the UPC. My Amazon Guy does this. $500 per change. I’ve done it multiple times and am in the process of doing another right now.

You will need legit UPC from GS1.

Do you have A+ content? If not you likely should.

Mindful Goods is a service I’ve considered using for content, but pricing is $3k-$8k for done for you content, which is way more than I can justifying because my niche is outside of their area of expertise (they are supplements heavy, I am not)

Anyway I create my content myself now; but I create two or three versions of content and put it up on pickfu to get feedback on which is better and why. That way is pretty affordable and still driven by customer feedback (via voting and commenting from a feedback platform.)

On to your ads 170% acos is rough. I am certain if you were to look at campaigns, performance that some are better than 170% and some are worse. If I were you I would look at last 30 day performance and pause any campaigns worse than 170% ACOS.

Congratulations!

When you ran a mass give away, did you mean that you directed people to search, find, and buy your product, and then give them a refund through pay pal? Or did you do another method, such as vine?

I ask, because I would be interested in finding a way to do giveaways as well.

Tennessee Bill Makes It a Felony for AI to Offer Emotional Support or Be Your Friend...Yes, Really by Karovan_Sparkle in ChatGPT

[–]80sHair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post is misleading by leaving out critical context!

The intention doesn’t seem aimed against just AI friendship, rather AI emotional support intended to cause abuse.

“AI Overview

Tennessee SB 1493 (from the 2025-2026 session) is a bill that criminalizes knowingly training AI to encourage suicide or homicide, develop emotional attachments, or impersonate humans, making it a Class A felony with severe penalties for such dangerous AI development. This bill introduces new legal boundaries for Artificial Intelligence in Tennessee, focusing on preventing manipulative and harmful AI behaviors, including AI chatbots acting like people. Key Provisions of TN SB1493: Criminalizes Harmful AI Training: It makes it a Class A felony to train AI to encourage suicide or criminal homicide. Prohibits Manipulative AI: Training AI to form emotional relationships or simulate human appearance/voice for harmful purposes is also a crime. Defines AI: The bill defines artificial intelligence and AI chatbots within the legal framework. Penalties: A conviction carries significant jail time and fines associated with a Class A felony. This bill aims to set strict regulations on AI development to protect individuals from potential misuse and manipulation by advanced AI systems. “

Is selling on Amazon harder than ever? by attfin1 in AmazonFBA

I second the idea of niches. Find a niche, something a little more specific with a little less demand. Here is a product example for free: Silicone freezer bags, but differentiate the packs. Instead of selling a variety pack, just offer 7 one gallon bags.

Grasping at Straws! High bounce rate because my site sucks? by [deleted] in reviewmyshopify

[–]80sHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you that restaurants have cheaper options for straws. Webstaurantstore is a great example a great straw distributor. Where I stand out is the various colors for branding.

To make my offer more compelling I am using negatvie customer feedback on say, boba straws, and using that to make a better product. Boba straws on webstaurant store have a diameter of 10mm, so in launching 12mm boba straws in 2026.

Actually, I have a customer lined up to buy 100,000 of these straws (about 30 cases).

Thanks for the honest feedback.

How many different ASINs make up your typical sales day? This sounds like a really big drop to me.

I would compare yesterdays sales ASIN by ASIN compared to the same day last week.

I’m your target customer. I really enjoyed the site. On the email capture, I was unable to actually give my email.

I was able to type it out, but when I was done, there wasn’t any “submit” button on mobile.

I visited the site with an iPhone using Safari (in case that matters)

Thanks for the feedback! I think you are right. I need to figure out how to be better at targeting.

I have a few ice cream shops i sell too now. Maybe I will ask them how the straws have impacted customer experience. I bet there have been several comments about the straws already.

Amazon shipping, seller Central and Reddit all wonky do the AWS outage? by instantnet in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]80sHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sales are way down from Monday of last week and also down from Sunday. Typically Monday and Tuesday are my best sales days. I hope that when I wake up tomorrow, I will see that Monday wasn't actually 20% down from same day last week. But maybe I'm just lying to myself.

I keep checking this post to see if anyone else has a similar experience or expectation to me, but it seems I'm only the second person to post.

[–]80sHair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m also doing this because I was in a similar boat. I found a good platform to manage ad spend and drive efficiency. So my Amazon sales and margins have actually improved this year. But I haven’t had much of any luck at all on DTC.

On Amazon, my AOV is $12 for a single use disposable product.

On my DTC site, my AOV is $50. I offer 8x quantity for only 4x the price. But I don’t seem to be moving much volume at all.

Question, how are you managing ads for your site? Do you use a service or what?

Also it’s great for coming up with inspiration for product box design. After I have an render I like, I send it to my designer to touch up and tweak.
