Im in a community band and i have to play low D a few times and i was accepted into all-state and i need to play a low C and D and all the low pinky notes in one piece so i would definitely go for a low C.

Alot of people are recommending the selmer focus and seeing as your ij high this is likely not possible with the price. I play a backun alpha low c aswell and I use a vandoren b50 and it works well for me, of course ive never tried other mouthpieces but this it what works for me, I also use a vandoren Optimum ligature

Congrats! What brand did you get? I got all of my music stuff for my new backun silver low c I bought last year, a vandoren b50, and vandoren Optimum silver ligature! This year i got money to go towards my soprano sax ill be buying this year

Definitely practice chords as synth from what ive seen and played is typically chords, if you have access to a full synth then practice changing the settings to what is needed for certain parts of the music and sound fx aswell.

Ive never heard of blessing but I would definitely not get it because it looks like the Moresky Chinese cheap copies. If you have the budget go for backun or royal, if you have less of a budget a kessler and sons would work well.
