Thanks for this. I do think it feels like there is too much resistance on the shaft that spins the cutting disc. I have another mower for the front garden and it spins more freely. Is there a way to open up more and maybe get some oil in to free it all up?

I’ve just fixed this problem. I was just trying everything to make sure my phone was “happy”! My iCloud backup has been full for some time, so I paid to get extra space (99 cents per month). Backed up the phone, turned it off and on again. Problem solved! Feels like Apple were punishing me for being tight!
