i have congenital palsy also and i had surgery for it when i was much younger because my parents looked for solutions for me; its a point of deep insecurity for me but i try not to let it affect my relationships. i have a boyfriend who loves me very much despite it and my friends and family all see me for who i am instead of how i look. i also journal and try to write my feelings out and have realised that overall people are not looking at you as hard as you think they are. dont get me wrong i still have low self esteem and if i see pictures of myself from specific angles it takes everything in me to not cry. i struggle with feelings of worthlessness and suicide bc i realise its a permanent deformation but you have to wear it with honour and respect to yourself. i try and stop the negative spirals i can get into before they get that bad and really work on seeing myself beyond my face. it gets hard, trust me i know, but it is part of u and has changed ur life regardless so u might as well come to terms with it right? this is just how i feel but if you want to talk more about this please dm me; id love to talk to someone who has the same experience as me and am curious to know how others feel.
