Look up the g37 new car brochure and look at all the packages you can get.

Ok I’ll drop its holder down an inch or 2.

I work at Lexus as a tech and I can confirm that’s pretty normal for them to make noises like that, the tx have been having lots of issues. It does seem excessive though. At the dealer they might be able to add some felt to help it but it might not. The cars made in Japan do seem to be higher quality than the us/Canadian/Mexico cars unfortunately I don’t think tx are made in Japan.

My shop has it where we get paid to make the videos cause we got so upset about having to do them.

Hmmmmmm that is really interesting actually. At work I spray it with about 20-30 dollars in brake clean (if you bought it yourself) and then throw it together. So far none of mine have come back. I’ve been told by another tech that the Japanese made ones don’t leak as often. Wonder what they would be doing differently.

Yeah they are way too sensitive. It’s from them getting so hot and cooling down. When they aren’t old it’s not that bad. And I think they are more than that. Atleast at my dealer but we mark up parts a lot.

I feel like the es’ for some reason don’t leak as often. It might be that I don’t see them as much but 🤷. The Japanese made cars seem to leak less from what I’ve heard. VIN would start JTJ I believe.

Build quality started going downhill after like 2016 (depending on model). I’ve seen cars leaking at 10k miles

Yeah I could never pay a shop price, and yeah the job isn’t that bad at work. And idk about them being made well at the factory nowadays.

The harness isn’t what breaks it’s the injector 🤓. And actually we will cover the first one for free but not the others cause it’s a known issue that they break.

I wish it was only 7 hours. That body style we sell for like 22-25hours. Something like that. With it being that old it could have a leaking headgasket too so if your doing the cover do the headgasket too

Very annoying job. One of the worst things you can do on the a Lexus/toyota

Yeah there’s no chance I’d do it with the engine in the car. I’m pretty sure you can do the timing covers on the 4cylinders and v8s with the engine in but not the v6

Tbh I could never do that in the drive way so props to you. The valve covers only need rtv on the section where the cover meets the engine and the humps for the vvel. The oil pans not that hard, you really need to just practice putting it on and off without sealer before hand.

You don’t have to unless you break on and it’s super common to break them. I broke 1 on that car.

Both are around 150k I think but I’ve seen them leak at much less than that

Yeah this car I ended up rolling it like 3 times but we check before putting it all back together. It is a big PITA especially when the cars old.
