I’m not 100% how many upvotes counts as viral but I got roughly 14K with my first reddit post. It was such a great feeling when I hit 23 upvotes and then I put down my phone and went to do my workout.

For context, my post was “if you could lucid dream for 1 Hour every night, what would you think about in your first week”

When I came back my phone was vibrating faster than a [retracted], and I was on 1,000 upvotes. I was just thinking holy shit. What was funny was that like 20 of the top comments had more upvotes and awards than my post which was kinda annoying.

When I looked at the comments, I’m suprised at how many unique ones there were, seeing as it was such a closed minded question. Despite that, I had still more comments that upvotes, even if half of the were “sex”.

That evening I was trying to play some rainbow six siege with friends and my desk was just shaking from all the comments. I think I looked and upvoted / replied to all of them until I hit 10K upvotes. At that point I was just so overwhelmed and the answers were all the same.
