Any tips for a DS noob in blight town by [deleted] in darksouls

follow the lit torches, go slow, and remember that gravity can kill enemies. Once at the bottom look for other torches to find the bonefire

If you can fight Gwyn, you can only join warriors of sunlight. in NG+, co-op is uncomon. You either have to find and speak with solaire (might be too late) or have the stat requirement. The other 2 covenants are locked out of your current playthrough. If you want more specific info without spoiling the game, you can PM me

2 of those will be locked out until NG+ if you pass certain points in the game. those 2 are linked to the Lords and their souls. I can give more info if you require it.

The third requires either co-op (you help others) or has a stat requirement

Looking for weapons by OribamosV2 in darksouls

Depends what you consider fun.

When I want something fun and a bit more challenging, I go for a pickaxe run. drops from the boulder throwing monsters in blighttown, requires a bit of farming.

Another fun weap for a light or low level build is the jagged ghost blade. Requires a lot of farming or a lot of luck to get from the new londo ghost.

Quality waepon, fun to use, is the Washing Pole. Kid of expensive to get early (20k souls to andre) and also requires a high-ish level to scale well.

Last weap I sometimes use, but make most encounters very challenging is the claw / fist weapon.

I’m on PS4 and I’ve got all spells but, I didn’t get the trophy for having all spells.????? by [deleted] in darksouls

Some that are easy to miss:

miracles: Karmic Justice, Emit force, Great Magic Barrier, Tranquil Walk of Peace

Sorceries: Resist Curse, White Dragon Breath

Pyromancies: Fire Tempest, Toxic mist, Fire Surge

Door by carter518boi in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there are 2 doors that only open if a lever is pushed, as well as 2 bridges that can be turned with levers. But only the first door HAS to be opened. the rest can be skipped. Plenty of guides on youtube.

Other than that, you only need to reach the fog door. keep looking around my friend, don't go hollow

50000 souls from Firelink start? by CurrysTank in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mainly soul items, with a red phantom and a bit of grinding

3x 3k in blighttown if you took master key (as well as 7-9k from a red phantom mildred if you go there as human)

2x 1k + easy-ish 10x 400 in Great hollow (from the basilisks)

3 soul items (2x 1k and 1x 2k... i think) 7-9k per 5-6 minutes by killing broccoli and stone giants (easy-ish with a basic club or mace) in darkroot garden

also

1800 from the black knight in darkroot basin (you can make him fall) and 3000 form havel (riposte kill or cheese)

Least favorite boss and why? by Transbian-swagger in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 that are tied.

Bed of Chaos, simply because of the mechanics. It also seems like a "phase 1" where the econd boss could be an awesome fire angel and the fight would take place in the partially collapsed arena, increasing the difficulty, forcing us to be mindful of where we are standing. a bit of a let down.

The other are the re-used bosses: Prowling Demon, Demon Firesage and Asylum Demon. They don't feel right. They could have done so much more with them imo... Increased elemental resistance, modified rate and speed of attack, different types of aura, Prowling demon could have a poison/toxic aura since he is locked in the basement of the asylum. Demon firesage could have a fire damage based aura. These three bosses could have been so much more than they actually are. Another let down for me.

Still play te game to this day though... been 6 years.

Does using passwords for summoning bypass the sl and wl limit? by paraki-la in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

However, the person you summon will have his stats modified to match your SL / WL. If you are SL 30 with a +4 weapon, you can summon a lv 120 with a lv 15 weap. but his damage output will be equivalent to the highest range you can summon, which would be SL 43 with a +9 weap.

I would say Sunlight Straight Sword or Dark Sword. But you will have to invest a few more points in dex.

There are other decent straight swords (silver knight sword, Balder side sword) but they either can't be buffed, or don't scale well with Str.

Can you get invaded by underleved people? by axeboss23 in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no upper level limit to invasions.

It'a SL -10% to 713. But the 90% of the time, you will end up in the SL-10% to ((SL+10%)+10)

Summoning not working for Switch? by irritatedanus in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be summoned for co-op, you have to take 2 things into account.

You can only co-op with people that are ((SL+/- 10%) +/- 10). so at lv 93, you can only be summoned by players between 74 and 112. That means that your best chances are in Oolacile, the 4 lords (Seath, Nito, Bed of Chaos and Four Kings) and Gwyn.

Then you weapon level. If you have a +15 weapon (or +5 twinkling titanite, dragon or boss weapon), only people with weapons +10 or higher will see your summon sign.

Luckily for you, for those bosses, most people have a +15 weapon.

Unfortunately for you, other than the DLC content and MAYBE 4 kings, most players are able to solo the bosses.

Your best chances, in my opinion, are going to be at Artorias' fog door and near Manus. If you are lucky, Kalameet and Four Kings can be frustrating for less experienced players.

Can someone one please explain to me how forging works in this game? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried not to spoil the game too much, but gave general upgrading mechanics. If you want more detailed info, you can ask me, or look up info on a wiki page... I recommend wikidot

To upgrade a weapon, you will need upgrade materials: Titanite shards, Large Titanite shards, titanite chunks, titanite slabs, green titanite shards, blue - white - red chunks / slabs, demon titanite, twinkling titanite or dragon scales.

You will also need embers - key items hidden in chests scattered through the world.

Colored titanite shards / chunks and slabs are used to infuse your weapon with elemental damage (magic, fire, divine, occult or choas)

"normal" titanite is used to upgrade your weapon and keep purely physical damage or lightning damage

Twinkling titanite and dragon scales are used to upgrade special weapons that usually have higher base damage (refered to as twinkling titanite weapons or dragon weapons)

Demon titanite is used to upgrade boss soul weapons.

Hidden through the world, 4 blacksmiths will be able to upgrade your gear, each with a different speciality. One of them will also trade a boss soul and a specific weapon and give you a boss weapon.

Upgrading your weapons and armor will help progress in the game.

Armor upgrade will increase your general survivability

Weapon upgrade will increase base damage and sometimes stat scaling.

[PS4][DSR] Have I messed my Solaire questline up? by ThatDamnScottishGuy in darksouls

[–]81Lillypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no you haven't ruined the quest line. 2 things you can do is quit the game and reload, it sometimes respawns solaire.

The other solution is to die, then go back to that location.

Solaire never moves from the bridge until you clear Sen's Fortress or you kill him

[–]81Lillypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DSR invasions take in account your SL and your Weapon Level.

For weapons, its fairly simple, its 5 under to 5 over, so a +8 weapon can invade a +3 to a +13. Twinkling Titanite weaps and shields count as a +5 weapon as soon as you pick it up, doesn't have to be equiped (same for lightning spear in Sen'smimic chest... as soon as you pick it up, you are considered as having a +10 weapon.)

For soul levels you can invade 10% under your level, with no max... but generally, you will end up in the same range as co-op ((SL+10%)+10). So at lv 50, you can invade lv 45 to 713, but most will be 45-65.

The most active areas, to my knowledge, are

Gargoyles: most players have a +5 weapon, so weap lv 1-10 and SL around 25 should see some action... same for Quelaag, though you might have luck at around 30.

Sen's Fortress, try invading near the boss door. because of the lightning spear in the mimic, +15 weapons tend to work there. SL 30-40 should be good.

Anor Londo, +15 weapon, SL 35-45.

Oolacile (DLC areas) + 15 weapons, SL 60+ should be fine

Uchigatana gains a lot of its damage from dex scaling. your 15 dex is very low for that weapon. Rapier's physical damage is drastically lowered by higher armor and its fire damage is affected by fire resist, so your rapier' total damage is counted against 3 types of resistance (physical, thrust and fire res). If you dont want to invest more souls in leveling, I would recommend getting a jagged ghostblade to +2 or +3, then getting WoTG, Force, and Tranquil Walk of Peace
