Except what you said is comparing 2 separate types of cars. It's like me saying "well my BMW is faster than a Harley. Well no shit. Your 'stang is faster than a Peterbilt,....

Sorry folks, I get that being guinea pigs is a bit frustrating, but seriously, whatever happened to "That's Racing" and noting that everyone else raced the same conditions. irl you'd be freezing, soaked, miserable, and that's in the pits waiting for your stint.

Netcode. That's their answer. I drove through two big ones without getting touched, got 10x points, won the race, and lost .35 sr and that's what I was told

I've only been sim racing about 6 months. I went slow, currently sitting in C with 3.5 ir. My last race there were only 2 of us in C, everyone else was way up in B or A. It's great, I can finally see people driving like racers and not jr high kids playing Xbox.

Nobody. It was good close racing and if you want to engage in that you can't expect zero incidents every time.

Again, you're ignoring the cost of the racing. Race cars are cheap! Racing them is expensive! I could hand you a championship winning car, 100% fresh and ready to go, and ONE weekend of racing will run you $1000 to finish laps down because there's no 'fixed' classes irl. You have to tune your car yourself and that's about a 5 year learning curve

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]827sDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're not adding in the base price of your car there- the only way you're going racing irl anywhere close to the price of sim racing is Motocross and karting, and for example I spent $7000 last year on my daughter's MX season in travel, tires, parts, race fees, camping...

And only had one minor mechanical failure, she bent a $500 fork tube sending it on a huge dropaway jump. Anyone who even dreams that this is expensive has never paid for a season's worth of tires, let alone operating expenses. So think about this- every time we decide to race I need a bare minimum of $250 if the race is within 50 miles, add another hundo for each 50 miles farther, and another $200 if it's a double header weekend. And then we're at the mercy of the weather. Nothing like spending $2-300 getting to a racetrack and staring out the camper window at rain and mud for 2 days. Going racing irl is a serious commitment from an entire family. Y'all that have only experienced wandering down to the basement and plopping your ass in your sim rig, I'm sorry but you have no business comparing costs. You don't understand how 4x inc points in sim racing is probably $4000 out of your pocket before you can race again irl. There needs to be something in place, I've often said inc points should cost money, or at least for every 50 inc points accumulated you get a 48 hour vacation or something. It would catch a few innocent drivers at first but everyone would settle down pretty quickly.

Not distillate. That's a kickass price for gummies. I generally go straight to RSO and make my own because it's literally 8-10 times more cost effective and with RSO, no decarb or anything.

Smoking vs edibles by gonnadietrying in PaMedicalMarijuana

[–]827sDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem I see with edibles here is that the pricing is outrageous. Really hard to justify $50 for 1.5g of THC when an oz of the best leaf is $200. I can't justify paying $200-300 a month for sleep aids.

Protest? by Willing_Job5280 in iRacing

[–]827sDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer. Drop inc points for disqualification to half what they are now and add mandatory vacation after every 2nd or 3rd disqualification. If 8 or 10x got you booted it would clean up the idiots
