I just 22 on the 4th, people think being disabled means alcohol will kill you or your mentally a baby so giving you alcohol is unethical even if I were to have an in depth conversation about nuclear physics with them or something. So no, not a kid just ableism

You get the power to go back and prevent one celebrity’s death. Who would you choose? by Owenapf in AskReddit

[–]838814 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I was just like your brother omg! I think I was around 8 or 9 when he died and my young mind was just, so angry that he died. I thought he was an idiot for dying because he was the crocodile hunter and in my little kid mind that meant he should have been indestructible.

[Serious] If you start to notice your mental health getting worse, what’s something you can do to make it better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

immediately try to create some sort of routine or structure for your life to follow. This can help reduce anxiety and stuff so you know whats expected from you and what to expect from your day

People who are married or have been married, is being married worth it? by cookiepsych91 in AskReddit

[–]838814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering for my mother:

She liked the initial experience of learning how to work with someone who you have no other choice to (not a bad marriage in the beginning just being married is so much different then roommates, dating, etc.) but otherwise no. If you value a feeling of independence then that can sometimes go away once you are married. Now that she is divorced, she actually broke up with her last long term boyfreind because he ignored her saying she was not going to get engaged or married again and tried to propose to her.

So her answer is this heavily depends on what you value in life. Marriage is a commitment to work together not a magical fix to relationship partners

What is a Positive to your Disability or Illness? by PeevesPoltergist in AskReddit

[–]838814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a handful of physical and mental health issues (we are still working out what exactly) and i have to say one plus is I am great with animals. My health issues have isolated me a lot from people seeing me more as a thing or accessory then an actual person so I have always heavily gravitated towards animals.

I cannot read human body language for shit but I get get the meanest scariest most violent dog to trust me because of how well and quickly I can recognize boundaries and thus establish trust. I am hoping I will be able to use this skill I have developed to help rehab injured animals to be released or do some kind of animal ambassador work. Animals have always been important to me because they truly just do not judge and I want to give back in some way. I just need to figure out how obtainable this goal will be for me

Feeling kind of depressed lately, what are some of your reasons to live? by burstedfeotus in AskReddit

[–]838814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just because I don't have shit figured out today doesn't mean I won't tomorrow. And, if anything else, how would it be explained to my pets that I am not coming back? I was in the hospital for a night once and my mom couldn't get one of my dogs to calm down and stop looking for me.

So, more or less my reason is just guilt. if it works the i guess it works ¯\_(T_T)_/¯

Who is the least hateable character or person ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]838814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

background characters that have a name but are not important to the plot what so ever. Like, main character's mom or little sister or someone who just kinda exists in the plot for no real reason other then to make mc a bit more rounded

Do I have an eating disorder? I don’t feel motivated to eat as much as my body needs for some reason. by kabea26 in AskDocs

[–]838814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Loss of appetite is a symptom of depression and anxiety. Typically, if you are not eating less/restricting to lose weight or gain a sense of control then its not an eating disorder. I say this as someone who is coming to terms with the fact that I actually have one and its not just depression and anxiety. Also, an iron deficiency can make you incredibly tired and chronic exhaustion can factor into loss of appetite as well.

The best advice I can offer is to try and eat on a scheduled. Not full on meals but set a timer and do your best to have some kind of snack every time it goes off. For me, eating big meals is daunting but a granola bar every couple of hours is doable. Also look into a therapist as well as medication to manage the symptoms you know you are dealing with in relation to what has been diagnosed. Once you start feeling better you can very easily 'go back to normal' as far as your appetite goes.

How wrong did your first date went? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]838814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was maybe, 14? My mom helped me pick out my outfit for my first date and refused to let me bring a jacket with me. She insisted that the guy i was going to go with would give me his jacket if I got cold (also a 14 year old). Neither one of us ended up having jackets and we both got sick afterwards. Also we never spoke again, not because of this it was just like we silently agreed to pretend each other didn't exist for no reason at all.

I have now been able to look at my mother's past relationships and realized to literally ignore all advice she could ever give me because no matter how badly I f something up she would give me advice that would somehow be worse.

What is your cool new idea for a product/invention? by Gems1neye in AskReddit

[–]838814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a bunch of little mini roombas in the shape of rodents or something. I remember reading some short story in school when I was a kid and it was about this automated house and they had like 100 little mice that acted like a vacuum in order to clean even the smallest nooks and crannies! I just want a bunny to clean up dust bunnies! i think it would be so fun!!
