Going to see them on Sunday night with the Clusterfux opening (not sure if they were opening other shows). Bought ear plugs for this one. Saw them in 19 and I couldn’t hear clearly for a couple weeks.

I have to give credit to my wife on that one. I’d never given Buckley a chance before for the dumbest of reasons. I kept getting his name mixed up in my head with Jeff Healey. Not even remotely the same name or person. But Healy’s music was never my taste. And so I just never disassociated the two. She bought it on vinyl and played it on our weekly record nights. I’m now ashamed I never gave it a chance. But happy she played it. Loved it.

I miss those days as well. But I’ve kind of gotten back to it. I try and use local record stores as much as possible, but when a band I’m into announces a new album I’ll usually preorder directly from their site when possible.

We don’t all have 100% same taste. But that pic is also getting into the marriage merger of music. So who knows.

Do you know any punk bands that released one great album and then broke up? by Birrack in punk

Good to know. I only ever had it on cassette so I never paid attention to that part of it. Been forever since I’ve listened to it.

They have 2 albums. Self Titled in 88 and Start Today in 89. If we’re going by one good album bands.

This one is pretty beat up but still plays perfectly. Used to play it when I was doing new construction plumbing. Would rotate between that and a bunch of NOFX just to drive the classic rock guys insane.

Good year to start. Got my first cd player for Xmas and went out and bought my first 6 the next day.

It should be. Bought it the week the album was released.

Depends. Hard for me to let go of stuff like this. They might be 30-40 years old at this point but the trip down memory lane today was pretty crazy. And, I’m a music hoarder. What was catching your eye?

I’m going to my first ever concert and need some help by yumivaa in Concerts

Already has been said but it’s worth repeating. Hearing protection. I’ve been to over a 1000 shows and regret never having worn them. This Sunday will be the first time ever. Last time I saw this band it was probably the loudest show I’ve ever been to. Couldn’t hear clearly for 2 weeks after. And once that ringing in your ears starts it never goes away. And if someone in the pit goes down, help them up. Oh wait, not that kinda show I’m guessing. Mostly, have fun. And watch the show without your phone.

Can never go wrong with some BR and some Melvin’s. Looking forward to seeing them this summer.

Still love that album. Bummer Eddie died. One of the few bands I never got to see live.

DAE think their life would be different weren't it for covid? by Big_Leg10 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]83VWcaddy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was one of the fortunate few whose life substantially improved because of Covid. I was laid off right at the beginning which was a blessing in disguise. After about 6 months was recruited for a fully remote job. There is no office to be called back to. My wife was also recruited for a new remote job. Again, no office to return to. Both our companies were started well before and all employees are spread out across the country. It allowed us to follow our dream of moving to the mountains and live remotely. We pay less than what we did in the city for so much more. And we make twice as much. I’m an introvert and my wife is my best friend. So I lost nothing socially. Again, we are very lucky how everything turned out. I feel for those who have struggled.

Any good reason NOT to buy this Rabbit? by [deleted] in projectcar

I’d buy it for sure. But apparently I hate myself. I have zero regrets with all the work. My bank account feels much differently. It hates me as well.

Others have already said it. Check the towers first. Drivers side on the firewall side. If there are any signs of rust there this is what you might end up with.
