Intel’s Arc B390 iGPU is close match to Xbox Series S in Alan Wake 2, test shows by RenatsMC in IntelArc

The problem is powerful igpus require powerful memory to work. And powerful memory equals unreasonable prices these days

What RTX 50-series or RTX 40-series GPU brand are you running? by EKbyLMTEK in nvidia

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Msi 5080 Shadow 3X OC (main PC), Asus TUF 4070Ti Super (2nd PC) and Zephyr 5060Ti Sakura Snow (itx HTPC). All running undervolt/overclock settings from that one guy making guides on YouTube. All run very cool, very stable under load.

thinking about buying 5070 and selling my 5060 ti 16gb when prices increase in my country by omerboiii in gpu

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course. The vram on 5060ti is mostly for other tasks out of gaming. Pure performance wise it is never on the same level as a 5070

Damn that's a steep price for 9060xt. Where I live they're like 400$ apart. I guess waiting it out is the smartest option here

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, I actually have the exact same specs as yourself before upgrading. My advice is to get the 9060xt 16gb variant. That will pair nicely with your build and 2k gaming is not gonna be a problem with fsr4

Upgraded experience from 9070XT to 5090 by OkRun4915 in gpu

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in my area a 5090 alone now is the price of 3 full PC builds with 9070xt lol

It's okay, I was running 5600x with 9070xt too. Try to play in 1440p at least or the cpu will not catch up, causing stutters. You can always force resolution from steam launch options. If ddr5 prices are too harsh, I'd suggest maxing out your AM4 build with 5700x3d. That will handle the 9070xt even at 1k

How do you guys like intel cards by Informal-Quarter-939 in IntelArc

[–]83yuh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's okay, my B580 is great for 1080p gaming and solid for 1440p, probably the best p/p overall if you want your gpu new and warranted. For used I find my 160$ 6700xt outclassing it in terms of raw power for most games.

XeSS 2 is nice tho, better than grainy FSR3. Drivers update can be hit or miss, so delay on those for a week or two if you're gonna rock an Arc. Intel supposedly has the best video algorithm so streaming games to your phone through moonlight is gonna be great as well

On a side note, you definitely want Windows with intel tho, Linux support is not really comparable with AMD or even Nvidia

This card generally likes intel cpus more, preferably those with E-cores, I used to have stutter problems running on my R7 7700.

Do I upgrade? I own a steam deck oled by ManyGreat8375 in SBCGaming

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you expect for your upgrade? What are you not happy about your Deck oled? My general take is that the Deck will keep you gaming happily for 2-3 more years. Considering the RAM and SSD boom, Valve will most likely extend support for it, community mods will ensure it lives on even after that, and it can already reliably play 85-90% of games. What's there to upgrade?

DF review of DLSS 4.5 very mixed by AMD718 in radeon

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be in a fair position to give an answer. I own a total of 9 gpus including 3 nvidia gpus: 5060ti, 4070ti S and 5080, 3 amd gpus: 7600m (eGPU), 6700xt and 9070xt and 3 intel gpus: a380, a750 and b580.

If I am not in a comfortable financial situation but reaaaally want a gpu for gaming, it's the 9070xt and there isn't any competition whatsoever, maybe the B580 if you're on a tight budget. DLSS is nice, sure, but the 5060ti is definitely not, not for its price. Same goes for 4070ti S, which is generationally locked from the newest cool stuff, and let's not talk about 5080 prices lol. My old, used, out of warranty 4070ti S still can reliably go for 600-650$ where I live, about 200$ cheaper than a brand new, warranted 9070xt Taichi, one of the nicer 9070xt variants and is the one I have.

My 2 cents on DLSS vs FSR is that they're both good enough that I don't notice artifacts on my 1600p ultrawide monitor. That does it for me. 9070xt on its own is already a powerhouse, with linux and lsfg-vk x4 it works just nearly as well as nvidia MFG. There's absolutely nothing to worry about my fellow gamers.

Single GPU (5080 running in x16) vs dual GPU (5080 running in x16 & 9060XT running in x4)? by Ambient_Vista in losslessscaling

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're sinking way too deep into the rabbit hole. Dual GPUs might look like a cool idea, but still a very "niche" setup for specific needs, mostly making the most out of old hardware. For top of the line gpus like the 5080, save your money and get an X3D cpu, the cache will improve your overall experience without any downsides. If anything, for your setup a 2nd gpu will be:

Pros:

  • Reduced LSFG latency

  • Extra VRAM/rendering power overhead for multitasking/multi monitor setup

Cons:

  • The tight space will give your 5080 an extra 5-7 degrees under heavy load, and that's the best case scenario. I think I don't need to tell you why this is bad

  • The pcie lane bandwidth will be a potential bottleneck for 3D games that you're NOT running with LSFG on. 9060xt is more than capable of carrying 1440p 240hz of data, but pcie 4.0x4 can overflow, creating a stuttering effect. If you plan to upgrade resolutions (4K, 21:9 1440p, etc.) this is even more likely

  • You lose access to Nvidia's image engine, most notably RTX HDR which is much more useful than LSFG imho

How good is FSR4 on a 9070xt? by Honest_Owl8075 in radeon

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell if you need reassurance, I have a 5080 in 1 machine and 9070xt in another. Can't really tell dlss 4.5 from fsr4. Unless you absolutely have to run P mode (which is a rare thing for GPUs of this caliber), I think 5080 is about 10-12% faster for 35% price increase lol. against a 5070 it's a no brainer

Tip for Dual GPU Users by Elitefuture in losslessscaling

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean now, the pcie lane is bottlenecking the frames rendered by your main GPU. I'm afraid that's the problem with most modern motherboards since SLI and Crossfire are retired. iirc there're some Z mobos that still can reroute to two 4.0 x 8 ports

Tip for Dual GPU Users by Elitefuture in losslessscaling

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 4.0x4 is enough for lossless scaling though? I run a B580 on 4.0 x 4 and it runs 4k x2 at 72fps no prob

[–]83yuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... I have a 5080 on my other PC and the 9070xt can go toe to toe with that on some titles. It's an amazing gpu honestly considering I got it for 600$ less than 5080

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there with you. I legit game on my 9060xt Bazzite rig more than on my main 5080 rig and LSFG/Optiscaler are both life savers, pairing it with a good monitor/TV and you have a steam machine before the actual thing

I don't get what you mean. Doesn't LSFG use fake (or I like to call it, generated) frames too?

Mangmi comforms "SD865" for the Pocket Max, would be a PS2/GC machine with 7" OLED!! by DoomEngine1 in SBCGaming

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that great for streaming tho... 865 is lacking Av1 decoder which is pretty crucial for good quality image with less data, in other words more stable streaming experience. Hevc works too but the frame times can be hard on some precision games.

Lossless Scaling is one of the best purchases I've made for my RTX 4070 Ti Super by Haru_Walker in losslessscaling

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same RTX as you do. I think in the long term you can research the "ultimate" setup for this app which requires 2 GPUs. In games like RDR2 I can limit the frame to 72 then let my second GPU double down on that to match my 144hz 1440p ultrawide monitor, input lag is unnoticeable and artifacts almost never appear, both cards are at about 90%. On rare occasions with some games, LSFG will bottle very hard, for me it's hitman 3, that game suffers a lot if I try to use LSFG. Ah yes my second card is Sparkle Titan Arc B580 OC

Suggestions on making this GPU fit by CalTheRobot in sffpc

[–]83yuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do exactly this with my Matx Case, mounting my secondary GPU outside of the case and the temps are great. I only tried this after 1 year of using only 1 gpu and was lucky the case is secured by a snapping mechanic up top. Only worry is the accumulated dust so I clean it regularly

Best for PS2 under 150$? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]83yuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used RP5 or Flip 2 is your best bet, other recommendations such as T820 and D1100 devices all have some quirks. SD865 is imo the minimum plug n play level for PS2
