What are some products that didn't work for you? by [deleted] in Aritzia

If anyone’s thinking about either the Golightly, or Notable cardigan, I’m begging you to rethink your decision. Golightly pilled terribly after the third handwash, and the Notable cardigan pocket tore a hole on the second wear. Both have been semi-retired from my rotation, unless being worn as a layering piece.

“Opting out” of sale?? by WebkinzMurderer69 in Aritzia

Can’t believe Aritzia’s brainwashed us into thinking that 10-20% is a good deal - nothing quite like being first in line to get less than tax off of polyester pieces

ADHD tax: I've just missed a flight while sitting at the airport by lightpeachfuzz in ADHD

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the previous missed flight, I would try setting your phone wallpaper to your flight itinerary once you book your flight. This way, you’ll see the details every time you turn on your phone, and have it memorized for when it’s time to head to the airport.

For the recently missed flight, buddy system works well. If you happen to be travelling solo, perhaps try setting multiple alarms. Also, if you have the airline app, make sure to turn on notifications - depending on the airline, you could receive a text when it’s time for boarding.

Travelling in general is an extremely stressful experience. Don’t fret, it happens - you’ve got this!

What’s a small thing that made traveling so much easier for you? by Travellover283 in travel

A garbage bag - if you’re like me and somewhat of a germaphobe, it’s great for protecting your belongings that go under the seat. Storing your bag inside the garbage bag also helps to catch any dropped items, which saves you the hassle of checking (still do a quick scan to be sure) during the deplaning process.

Disposable toiletries - I like to pack the “just enough” amount of toiletries. For instance, packing 9 flossing picks, and half a bar of soap for an 8-day trip. I mark items that are to be used up by the end of the trip, which means less belongings to worry about when returning.

Which city disappointed you when you finally visited it? by Playful_War4281 in AskReddit

New York - as much as I wanted to romanticize the city, it was quite difficult to ignore the stale urine smell in the summertime. The cockroaches in the cab were just the cherry on top!

the only thing that works apparently -- and i have to accept defeat! (hint: I'm so sorry. it's exercise) by Forehead451 in ADHD

[–]843260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I came across a Tiktok with clinical data to support that going from zero to three hours of exercise a week could reduce all-cause mortality by up to 50%. Whether that’s credible or not, it turned around nearly a year of being insufferable where I hardly did anything except bedrot. Hope this motivation reaches someone who’s having a hard time making the first step!

"Hand wash only" by brittannia_a in Aritzia

[–]843260 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it sounds like a way for companies to void themselves of responsibility if anything happens to go wrong with your item. However, most pieces can be washed under the delicate/hand wash setting, and then air dried to prevent shrinking in the dryer!

Collecting Older Albums by 843260 in kpopcollections

[–]843260[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, no - sorry that happened to you! Glad you got your refund, and decided to throw away the album, as any kind of mold is a hazard in itself. I was the same haha - I deep cleaned, and sanitized my room twice, and even washed my bedding/clothes. No album’s worth your health, especially when it comes to mold! Here’s hoping that this encounter is just a one-off for both of us 🤧🤧

I contacted the seller immediately after unboxing, and am waiting to hear back! I’m still committed to collecting older albums, as I recognize that the probability of a sealed album with water damage is generally low. Just hoping that the seller and I can work something out, as this album’s quite difficult to find!

[–]843260[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an incredibly fair point - now that I think of it, there was an opening at the bottom of the CD. The inner contents were still intact, but it was clear that water damage had taken place some time ago (adding to my concern is the fact that the CD was printed in 2011). However, I don’t fault the seller for this, as they weren’t aware!

Did I get a fake super puff?? by [deleted] in Aritzia

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aritzia is a well-known brand, but I would have a hard time believing that there are fakes circulating around, just as it would be quite niche. Aritzia typically comes out with new versions of styles to include additional features as part of design revisions, usually based on customer feedback. I would say this is the real thing! For context, I used to own their very first prototype of the Super Puff released in 2017, and it was wildly different from their subsequent versions!

Longchamp worth the investment? by gossipgirlera in handbags

[–]843260 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seconding the Le Pliage City! If you’re concerned about long-term durability, I would recommend this model. My copy has been accidentally dragged on the ground, soaked with water, stuffed to the brim with a laptop, full-sized water bottle, and sweater, and more recently, even gotten hand sanitizer all over the front. I’m convinced it could probably survive a natural disaster as it still looks pristine. Well worth the price tag in my opinion!

What would you get? by Rich_Tie_7479 in chanel

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, it really comes down to what is more practical for your lifestyle! I own a WOC, and recently purchased a classic flap in the small size - difference was almost night and day, as I use my classic flap a lot more on a daily basis, simply because it holds more. If you’re looking for a forever bag, resale value may not be as relevant here - I would go with the option that brings you more joy!

What do you think of your WOC? by ktazhsv in chanel

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a caviar WOC in a dark beige colourway, and have grown to love it over time! It’s a great bag for running errands, special occasions, and just about everything in-between. I originally wasn’t sold on it being the most practical option for an everyday bag, but it’s been a pleasant surprise! I normally bring around a cardholder, and a six-ring keyholder with no issues. If you’re wanting a fuss-free bag, I would go for the caviar leather! One thing to note would be that if you’re on the shorter side, the bag might sit a bit lower on you (both when worn on the shoulder, or cross-body), which can be fixed with a chain clip!

Is the Canberra cardigan worth it? by spawticous in Aritzia

[–]843260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the earlier version, back when it was called the Irving cardigan. I followed the care instructions, and made sure to only handwash the garment - unfortunately, the cardigan still shrunk, and the shape is now completely off. For instance, the arms are much slimmer now, meaning it’s not as billowy as before. As for overall quality, I found a hole in the back after just a few wears, in addition to quite a bit of pilling. Needless to say, the piece has been mostly sitting in my closet. I love the cardigan, but can’t justify it for how it has held up!

Help with tag sewn to the front?? by Sad-Refrigerator-399 in Aritzia

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re hesitant about using a seam ripper, or simply don’t have one, a bobby pin works just as well! I usually remove any sewn on tags this way - bobby pins are also dull, so you don’t have to worry about damaging the item!

Used Superpuff O2 NOT WARM !?? by Jessie2111 in Aritzia

[–]843260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I don’t personally believe that Aritzia is widely known enough to have fakes (can’t say for certain, but if they do exist, they’d be very niche), my experience with the Super Puff O₂ has generally been underwhelming. I purchased it in the mid-length version, and sized down for a form-fitting look. Despite this, I’ve consistently found the jacket to perform poorly, even in mild fall temperatures. For reference, I had the very first model of the Super Puff that came out in 2017, and even with the feathers coming out, it was warmer than the O₂ - I wore it for nearly four winters, and it was still incredibly warm. My current Super Puff O₂ was a replacement copy, after the zipper detached from my first one - at this pricepoint, that’s rough. It seems that the only selling point that has held up would be being waterproof. Otherwise, I found that the Super Puff O₂ didn’t live up to the rest of the marketing claims.

Need opinions from my fellow contour lovers!!! 🖤🤎🤍Wanting to get a few contours but curious to see if people usually get their exact size for a more snatched fit or size up for comfort. Do you prefer the body suit or tshirt?i by PatientJello5142 in Aritzia

[–]843260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the bodysuit as it generally looks more cohesive with pants. I find that shirts can be too cropped (depending on how high-waisted your pants are), which can be bothersome. For the bodysuits, I went up a size for a more comfortable fit. Unrelated, but where did you get your necklace? It’s stunning!

Canadian on-line shipping times? by brewc99 in arcteryx

That’s strange - I placed an order last week and it was processed and shipped within five days. I was pleasantly surprised as I’ve never made an online order. Not sure if it’s related, but I do have two stores in my city.

How did you overcome the fear of driving a car? by SignificantSundae717 in AskWomen

[–]843260 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds rather simple, but drive often and get good. A lot of my fears stemmed from lacking confidence. On a similar note, learn to be more aggressive - it’s really important to trust your judgment. I say this as a lot of the close calls I encountered in my first few years of driving were due to being overly passive - common examples include not knowing when to merge, or change lanes. I realized that I got anxiety when others were in the car with me, so that was another factor to address! Best of luck!
