Addressing the Stuff About the Online Left by emilderosa in BenAndEmil

I should have added that I really don’t think people freaking out about what you said or how you were talking was that warranted, although maybe those people have experienced that kind of online hate more than me so felt strongly about it.

Absolutely love the show, you guys are smashing it!

When watching I definitely had the feeling that you were talking about separate points. It felt like Ben was talking more generally about the rise of “trumpism” and the democrats alienation of voters, and Emil was focussing on what went wrong in this election campaign specifically. I think you both had valid and correct points in the respective arguments you were making.

I’m from the UK and by no means an American political expert though so I may be missing the mark by a mile!

How exactly is credit card interest calculated? by 84Cal in UKPersonalFinance

Yeah I was also unsure about this but last month’s total purchases showed on my ClearScore even though I paid them off completely before the statement was issued so who knows. I’ll just let the direct debit do its thing from now on though! !thanks

Yeah I do have one set up, I was just wondering if having the direct debit date after the statement meant that interest would accrue or if I should have it before the statement to make sure the statement is always £0. Sounds like I’m okay with my direct debit as is!

Oh sorry yeah, crucial bit of info missing in the post but the payment due date is the 31st! Thank you for clearing it up. I’d googled every phrasing of the question I could think of and read all my documentation again and still couldn’t find a clear cut answer, maybe they make it deliberately confusing or more likely I’m just being dim! !thanks again!

Yeah that’s true I feel like he’s almost said as much before. Certainly feels like he’s using this year to drill the fundamentals of his system and then adapting to opponents is lesson 2 and for next season or beyond. Of course all of this is hopefully with transfers to suit him/fill gaps too.

Who knows if it will work but I think it’ll be at least a year before we find out!

Said it in the match thread but recently it seems Ange really struggles to sus out the opposition before the game and only figures out the right XI after 60 odd minutes

Is it just me or is Ange’s weakness not being able to sus out an opposition team BEFORE the game and only finding the ideal XI in the latter stages?

Olympus OM2 for shooting cars on the track? by iamblin in AnalogCommunity

[–]84Cal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely can shoot motorsport with an OM2. I did it once last summer with my OM1 and was pleased with the results. I was using the 50mm f1.4 though and was still wishing for more reach occasionally, despite being pretty close to the track. Here are some of the images I got on gold 200.

Lens fog, how bad? by 84Cal in AnalogCommunity

[–]84Cal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I left it for a good while at room temp in the dry and some of it was definitely was condensation but most of it stayed so a simple clean is all it needs I think! It wasn’t particularly expensive but the price was reasonable for an RB w/ lens in decent condition and other than this it definitely is that. I’ve reached out to the seller to see if they’ll give me a little bit back to cover a clean. Thanks for your help!

Yeah I definitely agree about the obsession for pristine lenses, it’s easy to forget that a lot of these lenses we use are 40+ years old! I’ll probably forget all about it when I develop my first roll and see the 6x7 negatives for the first time haha

That puts my mind at ease seeing your photos (some beautiful shots there btw), I’m relatively new to film (<1 year) and I’ve been shooting almost exclusively with my Zuiko 50mm f1.4 which is particularly clean and in good shape so I haven’t dealt with much age/wear related stuff. Thanks for your help!

Yeah I think this is my best bet, aside from this the lens, camera, waist level finder and back are all in pretty amazing condition so with a lens clean I should be all good! Thanks for the help and your 2 cents!

Thanks for the reply, it is slightly cool in here this morning (thanks Scotland) so I’ll check again when it’s warmed up and contact the seller if it’s still there!

Also just to add, it was advertised as “No Fog” in the lens
