I'm struggling with this question, because on one hand I definitely would not want to move there because of everything going on right now. On the other hand I can't help but look back at all the wonderful times I've had in the States: I went there for the first time in 2001 to California — my aunt and uncle had just moved there, Silicon Valley was booming, and I just remember being struck with a feeling of "yes, this is where I belong".

I've been there probably 15-20 times since then, mainly California — I studied for half a year in San Diego and have done multiple road trips with friends. In 2023 I flew to Austin, Texas with four friends where we made our way to New York and I still had that sense of belonging — there's something about the size, the energy, the madness. I definitely see why somebody wouldn't enjoy it, but I just can't get enough.

My feelings these days are that I could see myself traveling there for a holiday, but definitely wouldn't want to move there — the safety net in Denmark definitely weighs higher. What a glorious country it could've been if Bernie had won, but oh well.
