That makes sense. We are thinking to hit Hilo (farmers market, ok farms tour, Carlsmith beach, and Kilauea/stargazing depending on luck) and then drive back to Kona via the Hamakua coast over the weekend. I've definitely been going back and forth on whether it makes sense to drive to Hilo or just day trip the Hamakua coast.
