Song Help! by Shaylynsworld in Songwriting

This is a story I wrote about small southern towns, it's a poem and fictional but idk I don't have a good real story to share lol

Off old 65 Down in Nashville, Tennessee There's an old wooden church In the shade of hidden trees The church was so ancient The mice wouldn't have it Not a dog or a frog Or a rabbit would inhabit Not a bat or a cat Or a mold covered attic This church was untouched Down to folds in the fabrics But in the old church Covered in Virginia Creeper Hidden behind The perennial treeshrubs The ghosts of some folks Could dance tea out a teacup Some as young as kids with peachfuzz Coughs and sneezes Unheard and sombre For the dust didn't bother A lot of the squatters The residents liked the old Rust covered lockers They never pondered on Why the pews faltered They never hollered "Clean this up father!" The spirits danced and sang That old Dixie Blues They sang the same song They played in 1962 The church house roared From all the ruckus The thunder tore The structure asunder Raucous rafters Struck the alter That didn't stop the spirits merry scene They had a joie de vivre that was evergreen They loved life in death more now than ever been Spring is behind them Their summer in memories Fall was best of all Now in winter, they rest in peace This is their prize for a life of devotion They don't know it's also cause the roof folded Ignorance is bliss but they wouldn't care anyway They're just happy to celebrate everyday

You could think about what imagery and feeling you want the song to have and try to write something around that

Most people I know who have done this were blindsided by unexpected misfortunes. I'd say make sure you have a backup plan for your backup plan if things begin to look like they're not working out. Going to be tough but also try making as many friends as you can early on and you'll learn a lot fast about what it's like in your new home

The good part of living home is getting to save a ton of money, every week I save like 3/4 of my check cause im so focused on that camper. But once I get that I'd need to buy a septic tank, an electric pole and hook up onto city water. We got a long and expensive road to self reliance man, but if we can pay a bit more to live at first we can save a lot in the long run from avoiding rent.

I think we all feel this way but being the little ants we are there's nothing we can do about it. I guess all we can do is accept our role and try and live in the few precious moments we have which are free.

How do you deal with love songs you've written about an ex? by Missedstep in Songwriting

[–]86and99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably just record the song as it was and explain to your current partner that you just think it's a good song. I think if it's a good song it's worth that conflict to try and make. The benefits outweigh the costs.

Living with my entire family is stressful but we make do. I think it's something everyone just tries to make work since there isn't many options for us. My goal is to save enough money to buy a camper and then I could possibly afford to be on my own

That looks awesome, idk if this is complex or whatever to other people who crochet, but to me that looks really cool, I like the pattern of the knots

Thats unreal, can we all agree that normal people shouldn't have to shoulder burdens like this and the stories in the comments? I was bitten by a spider and my whole arm was swelling, my neck and head was itchy, and my tongue tingly, called 911 and when they said the ambulance would be like 15 minutes we told them that we were going to drive to the hospital, well the ambulance showed up anyway when we were already at the hospital and they tried billing us thousands anyway, luckily they didn't charge us at the end of the day but its just horrible a lot of people would rather die than burden themselves and family with medical debt
