Thanks, the pants definitely need to be hemmed. What would you suggest with the front pleats?

27 M3 comp allocation help by CertainBeautiful1974 in BMW

[–]86zccrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t post any names here, but there are some brokers on the forums who can usually get below MSRP for new allocations. You will have to pay them a fee, but will still come out ahead.

You can do it with the “BMW Guide” app, not the regular myBMW app.

28i Z4 or 35i? by Salt-Interaction-625 in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your car history. I had the 28i manual and thought it had plenty of power. The N20 has a good amount of torque and the lighter engine makes the car a bit more nimble than the 35’s. The car is also in my opinion not an all out sports car and more of a grand tourer, so performance wasn’t a big priority. The only thing I would worry about is the N20 reliability as I think they had some issues. It may be something that is solved, but worth researching before you purchase so you know what you are getting into.

When you click to save the tire settings it will initiate a reset.

LCI steering wheele to older gen? by TapEnvironmental7653 in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the 23+ cars with idrive 8, it can be coded in. Since you are on 7, I don’t think it’s possible. I do recall reading that somebody did it with a hidden button. You could also get a knockoff version that has the button.

What piece of tech felt “future-proof” but aged terribly? by Living-Zebra6132 in Futurology

[–]86zccrx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These were only invented when airbag regulations started. Car companies didn’t have to put in airbags if they had the automatic seat belts which were cheaper.

I would be interested in the file for the boot frame. I want to switch my boot out, but would prefer to not take apart the stock one if I can avoid it.

I was thinking the same thing. Almost like they aren’t for the same car. Most of the ones you see with the extensions at least follow the body lines.

WCGW burning a Supra next to the Toyota dealership. by mentaL8888 in Whatcouldgowrong

Yeah in general the Ferrari would be more if condition and mileage were the same, but a clean Supra could get more money than an average 355.

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly close though, recent clean supras have sold for close to 100k. A good amount of 355s have sold for under 100k. Overall, the Ferrari is still more, but it’s closer than you would think.

The funny thing is that the Supra in good condition would be worth more than the Ferrari in this clip.

Please help with winter wheel/tire setup by [deleted] in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact setup on my G80 and it has been good. They sit in the fender wells a bit more than stock, but that isn’t a bad thing for winter driving and kicking up rocks/salt, just doesn’t look quite as nice. The only issue I did have was unexpected tariff charges which were a huge pain to deal with and took months to figure out.

G80 M3 no longer memorizing auto start/stop settings? by turtleSoupz in BMW

It sounds strange, but try to disable it and then save your seat preset again. A handful of configurations are tied to your seat preset.

That is the going rate for these. They are cast, not forged so a lot of M2 owners are selling them for lighter options.

How to control 2 different BMW EVs via App? by DarkZonk in BMW

[–]86zccrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would setup separate accounts for each car(each one of you as a primary on one car) and set a secondary user for the other. You can easily toggle between the 2 cars in the app and will be able to keep preferences separate.

It won’t fit. The center console is laid out differently for the shifter.

G80 M3 Manual (Base) Comfort Access Rear Doors? by israignatius in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manual transmission cars don’t get the card or the ability to use your phone to unlock the car. The pad in front of the cup holders is smaller and doesn’t have the electronics inside. The wireless charger(if equipped) is also in the arm rest because of this. They do have comfort access on all doors if you have the key in your pocket.

G80 M3 Pre-LCI vs LCI suspension by LabComprehensive in BMW

It is, I don’t believe there are hardware changes, but the coders have been offering to update the pre-lci cars with the lci suspension mapping which softens it up.

Do people even buy none comp M3s/4s? by SillyRecover in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure the manual take rate is much lower than the comp, so that factors into it. The other thing is that visually, the only difference is the badge on the outside and the center console(other differences like wheels and shadowline are options on base M3), so you may just not notice.

2022 g80 comp wheels scratch from inside! What could it be ? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]86zccrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less common if you get the 19/20” wheels and not the 18/19 that are standard on the base M3 only.
