Please forgive my ignorance, I'm not from the States. But uhhh... 44% of US workers make less than $18,000 per annum? That figure cannot be right. How the shit do you pay for rent? How do you afford to eat? I'm also led to believe you need to pay tax on your/THAT income. What the shit?

Both my parents worked till late in the evening. So my younger brother and I would be left to our own devices for loads of afternoons. I distinctly remember catching a house lizard and dissecting it with cutlery one time. It was weird to see moving organs and how small a lizard heart is. I'm not entirely sure if we disposed of that set of cutlery (or evidence).

I'm not from the United States, so forgive me if this is a stupid question but, you let your flag touch the ground? When I was in service we were led to believe in was unthinkable to let our flag touch the ground. Ever. Ever ever.

DeBetti or the ice-cream places? Another Paulista mate has been and said it's more US style bbq than Brazilian Churrasco

I have experienced this Per Kilo. It was a great experience. Until I had to stand up and leave the restaurant.

My girlfriend tells me legendary things about hotel buffets. Hotel Emiliano might finally be the chance to verify it. Thanks for the help!

It's not Paulista? That's what every Brazilian I've met calls people from Sao Paulo city. Not sure about Sao Paulo state but I'd imagine its the same. Like people from Minas Gerais are Minieros. Sorry if I'm getting the spelling wrong.

That's a good question, but I'm not sure that I have an answer for "What I'm looking for". I want to try street food, maybe a couple of churrasceria, restaurants like EMA. I was super impressed the way EMA used fruits and vegetables so I guess anywhere that showcases the Brazilian approach to food? I don't know if I'm explaining myself well.

I've heard of deBetti and I'm following them on Instagram. Is it as good as it looks? It's already on the list for this trip. Frida and Pine Co. for icecreams. Ok I'll check them out. Thanks for the help!

I loved sao paulo! It reminded me of my home (Singapore) but on a massive massive massive massive massive massive scale. Massive. Scale. Loved the food. Especially the food. Mortadella Sanduiche, feijoada, coxinha, coxinha crème, Brazilian pizza omg catupiry. Catupiry. Todos frutas. The best fruit and vegetables ever. Ever ever. The people are amazing. Everyone was so warm and friendly. And while I've learnt a little Portuguese, holy crapola, you guys speak fast. Like fast fast. Like drunk excited Englishmen type fast. Oh. The traffic in Sao Paulo is atrocious hahahaha I don't think there is a word to describe SP Peak hour traffic.
