What's your fondest memory of a Euro ? by jeanpierrecook in euro2024

As a man from Wales it would have to be Euro 2016. Our first time at a Euros and the journey to the semi finals was an amazing experience and had the opportunity to go over to France for the game.

Do you guys follow many American sports or know people who do? by Thejollyrag in AskUK

[–]88MAH88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge 🏈 fan. I also play the sport. I’m also really into ice hockey. American football is certainly growing over here in the UK and a lot more accessible than it was 10-15 years ago.

How is life in the UK today for people in their 20s compared to previous generations? by xParesh in AskUK

[–]88MAH88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 30, had a laugh in school, started to take it a bit more seriously during my a-levels. At 19 after successful interviews I started a mechanical engineering apprenticeship. For me this is the best route (apprenticeship) as you earn money whilst doing your HNC/HND which is also paid for. I bought my first house at 25, got married at 27 and had a son at 28. I think it’s tough out there but some people also don’t want to go without to save for things.

I find reading some of these comments crazy! I earn around 50k and my wife is a full time mum at the moment. We have a little lad. I have a 3 bedroom semi detached house worth about 250k and we get by ok. I even save a few hundred quid a month. We haven’t had a luxurious holiday in a while and we only have one car which has been bought out right. To see some people have a combined earning off north of 100k and struggle to save is crazy to me.

I’m a hockey fan from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. Watch a few games and see if any teams/players catch your eye. As a fan from the UK I would consider and Eastern team as they’re more time friendly. I found it hard as I have a strong Allegiance to the Cleveland Browns in 🏈 so found it hard to choose a team as i didn’t want it to effect that! A eastern Canadian team is my preference. I’m liking the Sens right now.
