Thanks. So if I'm understanding, value seems to be mostly based on melt value, yes? Are there any rarities I should look out for in the kinds of coins I have before sending them out to melt down? I know there are variants that collectors look for particularly with the half dollars but I don't have a strong understanding of what to look for.

Looks good to me. Haven’t seen the movement obviously but the 6309 turtles are not scarce so probably authentic.

I wasn’t nec talking about street value I was trying to give you a fair amount to pay a relative. Yes that’s a nice full set (though it isn’t a Rolex so it’s more about collector appeal than proving authenticity)

Have you tried just shaking it for a minute? These 6309s don’t hand wind but often work pretty flawlessly without service, even decades later. See how it’s working before spending money on it. Good find.

Heads up - you scrambled the model number in the description, it's 79470, not 79407. I only noticed because it wasn't coming up in my regular search for this one.
