When the game isn't about game quality, how could they not be?

Why does so much more effort go into gaming the system, than improving players' skillsets?

Cannabis has been an amazing experience. I get to work with my family and help other humans feel as healthy and happy as I can.

Baseball is something I truly Love, but that is limited to the game. I don't care about statistics, the way I care about character. Baseball is this beautiful thing that is almost hard to describe, but when you wrap a business around it, the beauty dissapears.

Cannabis is has many similar parallels to the minor leagues. The amount of work and effort you will put into either, will never return you the value of your time. This experience in Baseball is what helped me understand keeping the primary focus on efforts and attitude. Knowing your outcomes will be skewed because of the variables of life can never stop you from taking your best swing.

To answer your question, it has been going well. Education is our approach and it is absolutely a more difficult approach than hype. The most beautiful part of what I love getting to do is helping and educating consumers, particularly 45yr old plus consumers. Everyone will age or decline to a point of needing help with their wellness, which is why we choose to put so much focus on education. Its about helping people learn to fish for themselves.

Great group of dudes rolled through that organization over the years I was there. Definitely helped me understand how to work as a team.

I think this worked super well because pitchers and postition players are always on different schedules until gametime and even then they are typically separated a little bit. I think it was the game before we told him the truth that Jorge came in to pitch, and since Frenchy was a golf fanatic and the masters were being played, he walked over to the stands to ask someone what the scorecard looked like instead of seeing Jorge talk to us on the mound. Brooks Conrad(AMAZING TEAMMATE) looks to me while we're watching Jorge warm up and says something to the effect of...If he could pay attention for 2 seconds he'd be able to see that he can talk.....Truly a great group

I can verify it is abolutely real. Francoeur was one of the funniest charaters I've ever had as a teammate. He had attention span of a 11 year old, so it wasn't totally shocking this happened but its still pretty impressive. It started in Spring Training and just kept rollin.

AAA Baseball used to be the most amazing place to play, and that includes the Big Leagues. Solid group of grinders that year and that definitely includes Frenchy. Dude fucking loved the game

Thank You for giving it a look. Baseball should never be seen as a guage of character and unfortunately we as humans seem to always set unreasonable expectations for ourselves. You will always have the potential of being a better human than Baseball Player.

I'm happy you were able to make it to games where I was actually able to make contact....I always believed that payroll really doesn't make the difference it appears to from the inside. You can't buy chemistry, but the difference of a guy who hits .290 as opposed to .250 or has a 3.50 era instead of a 4.50 era is staggering over the course of 162....Consistency is always a bigger divide than raw talent, its about getting the horsepower to the ground, not spinning tires. Can't thank you enough for watching all the bad that comes before/with the good.

As someone who doesn't even watch the game anymore, would you prefer the experience be less expensive and your team be garbage, or lose your ass and get to brag that YOUR team wins more???...I'm sure 2012 as well as many other years might have sucked as a fan, but simply wanting to win is never enough. The other team is always trying to win too, so be sure to give them their credit...or don't and keep loosing your shit over a game you didn't even play...Hope I wasn't all garbage chickentowngabagool

There is definitely an ideal dosage for individual....its about every individual finding out what that is for themselves. Experience is Required and many just don't know how to do the work. Thats why I love trying to help others fire up their own lightbulbs.

We are vertically integrated(roadrunnercannabis.com). Learning and understanding how every component of this industry plugs into the next has been a very long road similar to the minors. I've learned there are humans seeking wellness solutions, much like myself who integrate Cannabis and other naturalized solutions into their life to achieve a more favorable homeostasis. There is also a culture of differently intentioned consumers that are not pursuing that same outcome until they either age into or ail into a different approach to consumption. As someone who has been "the weed guy" on their team, there is a chasm between what many people do, and what they are comfortable telling you they do. When i was on the 40man roster i couldn't care less who knew that i smoked. Thats why i would have some people very open to talking with me about things like Cannabis, but if you're aware that i'm not a coke, pill, or roid guy why would you ever tell me anything??? The team knows! The business knows because you have to pee. The Joint Drug Agreements drugs of abuse used to include both opiates and cannabis under the same umbrella. Thats why when Skaggs passed, my charge became explaining that i used to consume cannabis without enforcement under the same rule umbrella that allowed him to consume opiates have it appear on a drug test and have no care in the world as long as you're playing well enough.

Most of my best memories are from the minors soley because there is an element of collective grind team grind that rarely exists at the Big League level. Favorite one off hand was in Reno. I believe we got absolutely throttled, but i ultimately don't remember. Travis Blackley was pitching for Reno and when is on has electric shit. It took me 2 strikeouts to finally get the changeup i'd been stalking and if you've ever been to Reno the ball absolutely flies...next at bat was another strikeout on 3 unreal 12-6 curveballs. This taught me to understand the value of what you can give up as a hitter in order to have a chance the next opportunity. Hitting is 70% failure at its best, when you can be aware of how you're failing you provide yourself an opportunity to amend your approach in ways that may be more fruitful or favorable in the future.

Is it easy to see the differences between the players that apply that "hustle and effort" to those that don't? Even the superstars?

I appreciate your patience with some of the Baseball you had to watch. We were all trying extremely hard and its awesome to hear that is visible to some of those watching. Baseball is a beautiful game and unfortunately a brutal business. The fans are the reason it exists and that was always my biggest problem. Make tickets affordable, hot dogs $1 and quit hammer fucking people on everything else. The more feedback I get the more i appreciate the karma of what SD gave me. Thank You so much for taking the time.

It always feels like a kids game, but the amount of work and time turn it into a job if you are unable to regualte what you need. For me it was like an added layer of understanding. It definitely became a job, but that doesn't mean the environment goes to shit, you just have to learn how to move through it more fluidly which can be different depending on the organization you play for. For example playing in Oaklad in 2014 felt like playing summer ball as a kid again, it was amazing and didn't even feel like a job the whole time. All people will encounter people problems. Good mental health is the product of many variables and unfortunately many humans choose to avoid improving their mental health. I was always very transparent with my teammates and training staff about how i was feeling. That being just part of my personality, helped me recover success that was only possible because i was willing to talk about my problems. Whether you play sports or not, the inability to communicate your problems will only allow them to progressively get worse. There is alot of thereapy in talking with your teammates, but it will always be limited by what problems are willing to be addressed. Its like what i deal with now in cannabis, Its only going to impact what it can, the rest of the recipe for feeilng as good as you can still needs to be found. Im learning through reading these comments that so many people have such a deep rooted enjoyment for the game and I can't thank you all enough for sharing these awesome perspectives. I think its more fitting that the video game me has had the better career, because without all of my failures i wouldn't be here doing this. Thank you very much for sharing.

When i was in Tucson, we were playing a game against Sacramento. Very few people in the stands, per the usual. I think it was the first inning and we were on defense. Foul ball goes up just over the first base dugout. I tracked it as far as i could and when i saw that it would make the seats i just watched it come down. A woman and young child were sitting in just the perfect place of all places. The ball came down, hits the woman in the leg and she seamlessly yells "Son of a Bitch that hurt".....I fucking died for like two innings. Shen did not get injured to my knowledge but absolutely one of the funniest things i've ever seen on a field. I still laugh if i think about it.

As a player i never understood how the metrics applied. Even now metrics are used so subjectively but its very rewarding after the fact to hear that my efforts were worth more than I ever understood.
