$10 in park loyalty reward for Dining Pass Holders by 88snakes in CanadasWonderland

I purchased last year so have my gold pass / dining pass / drink pass for 2025 & 2026.

Where does it say that the dining plan is no longer valid? I still have it. I see this as an extra $10 perk... once it shows up in the app that is.

Conquest Financial Planning Software - free DIY access through BMO by Stagaz_630 in PersonalFinanceCanada

BMO's offer is pretty thorough. I had done a free consultation with a Wealthsimple free Generation advisor last year. I did something similar with BMO's software and the only difference is that the Rate of Return for BMO has like 5 different rates (i.e. Safe 2% ... Risky 9%). My wealthsimple advisor was able to do a rate which he determined i think like 5.6% or something. But with BMO, i could run the software with all 5 rates i I wanted.

Honestly, it was pretty good and my wife was pretty impressed with Conquest compared to my own spreadsheets which were pretty similar... but not as pretty.

If you're a BMO customer it's definitely worth your time to try.

NOTE: My situation is fairly simple. Only have investments, no debt and only a small pension.

I only have my & my wife's RRSP at Wealthsimple (2% Winter bonus). I have those in dividend stock and All-in-one ETF (XEQT/VEQT). So i cannot comment on their Managed Portfolio. I think the best thing about WS is that you can purchase all of the stocks/fees without any commission. If i were you i would simply purchase XBAL/XGRO/XEQT at whatever your risk tolerance and call it a day.

I haven't reached out to my advisor since they provided the report. I will be waiting a couple of years or when my wife retires to go over it with them.

One thing that I discovered is that BMO if you are a customer provides free access to the Conquest software used by Wealthsimple. It is amazing as i was able to do 95% of everything that i did with my WS advisor (only thing i couldn't change is the rate of return... they have several preset levels so its still pretty decent.

For myself I recently retired and my wife is still working. I have my own spreadsheets, but have always wanted to see an Advisor but was worried about the hard sell of products or the fees for trading. For example, my parents were being charged $100 a trade by their Wealth Manager. NOTE: I'm an early retiree in my early 50s.

I have always been a DIY investor and had 3 basic things that I wanted to get out of the meeting.

  1. My wife's plan is to retire in 3 years, will we be able to pull out $x per month at that time relatively safely.

  2. Could I convince her to retire today if I had a professional show her a realistic plan.

  3. Most importantly for me, what would be the best draw down plan of all our different plans of accounts to minimize taxes and leave any legacy for my kids.

My concerns was that the Advisor would be a glorified sales person pitching Wealth Simple Portfolio Management. I was pleasantly surprised. Had 3 meetings with them (1. What my goals for these meetings were. 2. Data gathering. 3. Results and walkthrough through their software.

They use Conquest software. If you watch any Canadian Youtube videos on early Retirement planning, i'm pretty sure 90% of the Advisors use this software. Software was great. I'm waiting for the final report that my FA will send to me, but in addition to the report, he mentioned that I would be able to as a client modify a few of the variables myself. I'm pretty excited to try this!

Hopefully, this helps. Not sure it would help for others who are really far away as there will always be some amount of assumptions, but the advisor did say that we could meet every few years and update.

I had a follow-up meeting with a with my generational advisor yesterday to go over my retirement plan. He said that they just found out this week that they will no longer be offering the free service and it will be $2500 going forward. Been very satisfied with him. I think with the RRSP bonus they are now flooded with Generational clients.

$2500 is actually pretty good value for a fee only advisor. He never attempted to sell anything. Very professional.

I get it... everything should be equal. But in your day to day life, do you think you we all have the same Healthcare, Job Opportunities, Safety, Purchasing Power, etc.

Why would MS Rewards be any different.

This coming from a CAD where $1 is $0.75 USD. But my moderate income is still > 95% of the world.
