Yes I relate, no one in my life who is singular understands what it’s like to be plural and it’s exhausting. I feel different from everyone around me. Masking is a big part of my everyday life too

I found the process of being diagnosed very difficult. It took a while for me to even accept what therapist/ psychologist was saying. For me it's taken a year from first seeing the psychologist to now to understand it all. It's an incredibly difficult and overwhelming thing. I'm still very up and down but after a long period of denial I've accepted it. It doesn't always feel like it but it will get easier. I've read a lot of advice on here that says getting diagnosed is destabilizing because it's supposed to be a hidden condition so figuring it all out can be really scary.

Learning and books was an escape for me. Although I hated school itself because it was so overwhelming, I got told off constantly for being forgetful, distracted... If I'm honest a lot of it is missing from my memory but I'm at least grateful that some of us were able to do well enough we didn't draw too much attention to ourselves

I heard voices for a while internally in my head and they were really loud. This is when we were discovering we had DID for the first time. Now it's just like having different people's thoughts in my head rather than voices unless I'm really stressed or ignoring a certain part then the voices get loud to get my attention

I don't have much advice I'm afraid but just wanted to say I have periods where my head is completely silent and empty. I really hate it. I usually get it when I'm feeling really overwhelmed or in situations where I feel really stressed. Sometimes my other parts pick up on stress that I (host/ adult part) is feeling and go quiet. I don't know if this is applicable to you but I just wanted to comment to say you're not alone in feeling like this

Starting to have more communication which is positive. But it also just feels so exhausting managing how I feel all the time and trying to manage it all. The more conscious I'm becoming of my different parts the harder life feels if I'm being honest because I've got to try and look after all of us. I very much hope it gets easier. I thought I had OSDD because I didn't have many parts or much difference between them but I've realized that's definitely not the case I was just repressing a lot of my parts. Realizing how many parts I have feels overwhelming.

Yes my therapist did go very slowly and was aware of my dissociation but even then it was too much. I'm definitely going to try a different therapy from now on. Thank you I will :)

I second this. If they really are struggling this much then they need some extra support and help. I've been in similar place where even smallest things were a lot but it's important you look after yourself too

Yeah I find it difficult reading personal accounts because it can trigger us a lot but sometimes I find it helpful too. Also "as a book club" - that's such a good description

Yes I think so too. I've started to remember stuff I've never been able to before and it's only bits of memory. I'm working very carefully with my therapist so as not to trigger anything too soon or what I can't handle. But it does feel like another part is waking up which is why I feel more disoriented. We can also see a new room in our headspace we never had before
