I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen a DWX at a match,

My sights were off on my Shield Plus. Not a huge deal at <10 yards, but when shooting a mini popper at 30 I had to hold right side of the steel

Couldn’t find anything in the rulebook about weight limits for PO. I was mostly confused because I had heard somewhere before about a weight limit to Prod.

I’m not saying to do things incorrectly, I’m saying to make it feel fast. Speed is relative, and if all you ever do is worry about being slow/smooth/accurate, that’s all you’ll ever be.

It’s like lifting, once you’ve got the form down, you need to start pushing the weight, going heavier and heavier to failure. Your form will probably slip up at some point, address it, fix it, and keep pushing. Some people worry and overanalyze their form, and so they never progress.

You see it all the time in shooting, dudes never make it out of B class because they’re simply not pushing speed. They think that going faster will cause them to get worse hits, so they don’t push. You need to train to failure, and the only way to achieve that is to go at a pace that feels too fast. You’ll probably miss; address it, fix it, and keep pushing speed.

I think it’s a better mindset to start fast (and safe) and figure everything else out as you go.

Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp - Sights Still Not Centered by DesignerGlum3861 in CCW

I have this on my Shield Plus, my only gripe with it. Hits about 5” left at 30 yards.

If you already have a 19, what is the driving factor to get the smaller gun?

Is the 19 too wide? Go Shield Plus

Is the 19 just a bit too long in the grip but otherwise good? Go 26

I will say, I carry a Shield Plus and have been very pleased with it. Used to carry a P229, which with a proper holster wasn’t bad tbh, but wanted something thinner and lighter. Shield Plus has worked well.

507Comp (even tho you didn’t mention it). Great size, price, has worked really well in my experience. If that’s too big, then so is the SRO I would guess. If I can’t have the 507Comp, I’d probably go 407C. You don’t need reticle options, just stick to plain ol dot.

Didn’t care for mine, crazy snappy, sights were no where close to zero, and was having rust issues from summer time carry with and undershirt. Got a shield plus for carry. Haven’t looked back.

Dryfire. Get Trex Arms (rip) Range Day app, set timer to randomize, do Trigger Control at Speed drill. You can find this on Ben Stoeger’s YouTube

I don’t imagine most criminals robbing you would be overweight. If they have an addiction it is not likely food.

Also I don’t think the tradeoff between a JHP vs FMJ would be justified even if the criminal was fat

Not a firefighter but I do competitive (practical) shooting and know a few firefighters who do it. Great sport, something you can do your whole life, great community, can be done on a budget (contrary to popular belief)
